The car was not fully charged on pick up and we had to stop to charge and as a result a2.5 hour journey took us 5.5hours. My heavily pregnant wife was very stressed. There were no charger points available nor working when we stopped to charge. We then made it with 8miles left on the battery to the next charging station. We picked up my daughter 2hours late and that created further problems for the family looking after my daughter. They missed their connection to Ireland. The 155miles return journey to Gatwick we only just made again with less than 20miles left on the battery. We were assured the car would travel 255miles on a full charge. But it didnt ! All in all we had an awful experience and a very stressful journey, concerned all the way for my heavily pregnant wife. The girl at budget/Avis desk was Polish and her english language was very poor. I do need a car again Monday 4th for 1day hire again from Gatwick to take my daughter back to school and will use your search engine, but would be extremely concerned if we ended up with a hire from Budget again.

I love giving places the benefit of the doubt. I had a two hour wait for my car bc y out guys messed up scheduling for your staff. The staff was great- this is a company problem. Lovely people at the desk- poor management by budget. If picking up a car takes longer than the flight then there’s a serious problem with your company. This is not the first time I’ve had this experience with you. However, I was willing to leave this alone and deal with the situation. Then I turned in my car and got a bill for 70 more for a 45 minute over charge. You guys were two hours late giving us cars and have the audacity to try to charge 70 for 45 minutes? Which I turned the car in within the time alotted and there was no one who suggested it wasn’t there on time. I’m not sure when they got it checked in after I left it. But it is there. Also it’s cleaner than when I got it. The main reason I’m not going to write you an official negative review is that you had an amazing customer service rep who fixed the problem on the phone. You are so lucky to have some great staff that keeps covering for your companies mistakes. The people deserve a raise for dealing with the lack of structure, billing issues, work force issues, and overall unconcern the company has for the time it wastes of its customers. Your staff is saving you.

First, I received my email with a confirmation number reserving my vehicle, a Pacifica minivan. Got to the counter and the employee stated my reservation was canceled. They had no more large vehicles to rent. I did not cancel my reservation. I was in a panic as I had three children to haul around plus adults. The employee was kind enough to go in the back to speak with someone and they found me an SUV. I feel I could have been given a break on my rate as the reservation some how was canceled.

The staff from the nice guy at the counter, the girl in the booth and the friendly return guy were all fantastic. The car itself had dings all over it. It was missing paint on the driver's door. It didn't have any floor mats. Carpet was ripped or slashed on the passenger side and messed up on the driver's side as well. We were running late for a dinner appointment when we arrived or I would've never drove off in that vehicle. On the plus side, it did get us from point A to point B.

They called me the day before to switch pick up locations. I showed up at the new location and they closed a few minutes early. I went back to the airport and the enterprise at airport luckily honored my quote however I had to pay the high airport fees. really inconvenient back and forth just to get a car

Pickup and dropoff were very convenient and pleasant. I don't remember the employees at pickup but Sue at drop-off was great. After discussing our needs for going into the mountains and requiring 4 wheel drive it was easy to adjust the booking in person to get the vehicle which would work best for us for the trip. Very thankful for that flexibility.

Terrible experience. Will never use them again. We reserved a vehicle 6 months prior to travel. When we got there they only had a minivan for us. We had 6 people and a baby we were going into the mountains to ski and they could only provide a front wheel drive minivan when we ordered a luxury SUV with four wheel drive. I went over to enterprise and they took care of me

Easy check in/out process. Employee was very friendly and helpful.

The A/C did not work. The only reason it was bearable was because we went up the mountain and had the windows down with the cool breeze. But it was very hot /sweaty with the windows up and in Reno without the colder air outside.

I wasn't able to pick up the car because it looked like they had run out. Stood in line for three hours and maybe 10 people in the main line up were given cars. It looked like they were giving cars as people brought them back since people would wait for up to 30 minutes with an agent before getting keys. Pretty brutal so I just left and borrowed a friends car thankfully but now its very difficult to get my money back...

The wait for the car was 30 minutes. There were three employees working at one point and one employee disappeared into the office never to be seen again. Keys to the car were given to me and we had to walk to the garage and find our car. The car was covered in pollen and dirt on the outside. Inside was okay. No walk through and I had to take pictures of various dings, scratches, and a crack in the windshield for my benefit if Avis tries to come at me for this damage.

We rented a convertible for my son's graduation since it was a drive through due to covid. And we're going to cruise around town and just enjoy the day. I rented the convertible weeks before. We get there the day of graduation and the gal proceeds to tell us there are NONE avaliable. I was so upset for him since this end of the school year was such a bummer. It was just a huge let down.

Better mileage than expected

Cons:

Pick up: disaster. Despite having RESERVED a mini-van class car, there was none available when I arrived. What's the point of a reservation? Instead they "upgraded" me to a CRV, which has half the storage space. Extremely unhappy because I planned to move across the country in the larger car, not a tiny CRV.

I booked a reservation through Kayak for $93.50, but Hertz would not honor the price. They HAD the reservation, they simply wouldn't honor the price. The price they gave me was $166.13 and the person at the rental desk basically said "Take it or leave it". I had no choice but to take it since I had to be somewhere quickly

I reserved a car from Hertz through your site on August 10, for a pickup at RNO on Sept. 22. I prepaid a portion of the charge ($171.20), leaving a balance ($54.62) due at pickup. Instead, was charged $110.64 at the Hertz desk, and told my only recourse was to call their Customer Relations/Billing phone number to resolve the issue. That proved useless, as they would not honor the stated price on my contract. I believe that $56.02has been stolen from me, and I will never rent from Hertz again. Further, if Kayak is unable to get the overcharge reversed by Hertz, I will never use your service again, and I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. The price quoted should be the price charged. Period.

Absolutely terrible experience and will never use Turo. Apparently the car we had arranged months before was smashed two weeks before we we due to pick it up. Trouble is, no one told us until we were on the Eurostar on the way to get it. They had had our money for ages. Seems like the owner, Luke, was trying to get Turo to make up the difference and hire us his more expensive alternative (a Porsche, which I wouldn’t want anyway). Turo “help” line was totally unhelpful. Couldn’t end the deal; couldn’t refund without us getting on to another department (hard on a foreign phone). They can’t call you…. So it was impossible to organise an alternative. If there is a problem with a car hire company, they just replace it. Turo was more expensive and unable to fix a problem. Never again.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

No option for the vehicle. Vehicle delivered with only 3/8 of gas. The rear safety belt buckle are missing. I need to remove the back seat to put my baby car seat and for my mother safety belt. After take the highway the vehicle with more than 70k miles vibrate at 50mph. I call for a car change and they don't have alternative for me. Today eight days later the deposit of my $200 continue in hold and the recepcionist told me she only made appointments and i need to made a claiim via email for the refund. Poor customer service.

I was not able to get the car due to misleading information from your site. I was told that that wrack a rent was located at MCO airport. It was off site. Upon arrival ,I was told that toll payment information was given to me upon renting. That was not so. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. TERRIBLE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. From the start our reservation seemed off as I had been careful to select rental companies that were in the terminal at MCO but then after I booked I got an email that notified me this would require a 10min shuttle ride. I went along with it anyway. Then we get to the rental site and it's not even a Wrent A Wreck, they are actually called APM Car Rental. This was another red flag. Since we'd already booked we proceeded though. We were then charged a ton of extra fees. We were supposed to pay another $50usd on arrival to complete our booking (we'd already paid the bulk at time of reservation). We ended up being charged another $319 usd to get a car! This isn't even the worst if it. After spending a long time in the office and spending much more money than we had planned, we finally left with our car. We then drove about 10 minutes down the road and the car broke down. We called back the rental and they were extremely rude but said they would send somebody. We waited almost 2 hours in Florida heat with an infant baby and the whole time they would say somebody was on their way every time we called. That was obviously not the case since their office was not even 10 minutes away. When they finally came they had to jump the battery because it was dead even though they had been claiming we had done something to the car, they clearly gave us a car with a bad battery and finally replaced it with another car of the exact same model. Over the course of the few days that we had this car it broke down again and we had to jump the battery because they would not come help us or replace the car. The tire also blew out shortly after they gave it to us which we also had to change ourselves because they would not help even though they gave us a bad car. The rental company admitted that they had not inspected the second car they gave us since they were in a hurry to replace the first. If that is the case we should not be held responsible for the issues that were existing with the second car, but we were. Overall a terrible rental experience and we barely drove the car for the remainder of our trip because it was so unreliable and we had to rely on family members to give us rides. The company was very rude and refused to give us a credit for these issues. After we returned the car we thought that our issues with this company were behind us, we were wrong. In the week that followed, we were charged extra fees instead of getting credits back. First we were charged an additional fee a few days after drop off of car, then that fee expanded into a larger amount that we found on our credit card bill with no notification or explanation from the rental company. We have since been chasing them for answers and to try and get our money back with no response. We have now spent more on this car rental than our plane tickets! We have now been charged 5 times what we booked. This company is truly terrible, they trick people into thinking they are Rent A Wreck but actually they are another company completely and they offer terrible service and many extra charges. I have never had such a bad travel or customer service experience in my life.

You book online, it says total final price but in fact you pay 3x more at the office. The car breaks in the middle of journey (after first week) and you wait for car replacement for 6 hours (with inside baby in the car) while they keep of lying to you that they arrive in 2 hours.
