Pros. My wife and I stayed at the Martine Inn during Monterey Car Week and, in spite of the elevated activity level throughout the Monterey area, Don, his Grandson and the staff took great care of us. The Inn was our welcome ocean front retreat when we needed a break. Breakfasts were very good and the afternoon "tea" was extensive and tasty. All in all, a delightful stay.
Cons. Being car week, the room rates were not a bargain but also not totally unreasonable as all area accommodations go up pretty sharply during that time. Also, the rooms are not air conditioned, which is not prominently mentioned. Though the days were pretty warm (August) the ocean front location assured that things cooled down reasonably during the evenings. Sleeping was not at all uncomfortable.
