Pros. The check in lady
Cons. No heat in room. Room looked dingy. Poorly lit.
Pros. The location and the beauty of the property were just as expected. For our fifth year anniversary, the bride and I chose the Chateau for its New Orleans charm and location.
Cons. We chose a superior room which is supposed to be a balcony room or private courtyard setting, king size bed with a full bath. I also chose to surprise my wife with the romantic package (rose pedals, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, etc). I called the hotel one week before our arrival to check on parking and was informed they had ample onsite parking and there would be no need to park elsewhere. Now what we really got was a room on the first floor down the street from the main hotel. The room had two queen beds which were crammed in the room so tightly we could be barely enter the closet or the bathroom. Oh wait, did I mention the check in process took two hours. There was no “romantic package” waiting on us. I ended up having to park nearly one mile away because all the onsite parking was taken (first come first serve). As I was walking to the room from the parking lot nearly one mile away, my wife text me this very simple text, and I quote “the room sucks”. You can imagine I was crushed, 5th year anniversary, romance, New Orleans charm, and I the text “the room sucks”. So before I headed to the room from my long journey where my car was parked, I stopped in the reception area to check on the situation. The staff was no help at all. Sorry sir, is what I heard. We are booked and can’t make any changes in the rooms. Sorry sir, we see here that you paid extra for the romantic package, but we didn’t get the memo so it wasn’t delivered. Sorry sir, for your one mile hike because we didn’t have any parking available. I was told my room was a superior room, not sure what it was superior to, but it certainly wasn’t what we paid for. The room did come with a coffe maker, unfortunately the cord wasn’t long enough to plug in where it was sitting so we had to move it the bathroom counter. Surely that’s normal in a superior room. to say the least my wife and I were disappointed and feel as though we didn’t get what was promised.
Pros. It was close enough to the action to walk there but far enough away that it was quiet. Wonderful French Quarter hotel and experence . Jenny and Eric really went above what was expected. They added so much to our trip with tips and advice
Pros. The room wasn't ready by checkin, the room had not been cleaned (bottle caps and trash still in the room), the bathroom was still a mess, no windows in the bedroom. I stayed one night before getting a room at the Marriott.
Pros. Location
Cons. Climate Control - none in one room, off/on in another - controlled by front desk, Not clean, Ran out of blankets/wash cloths, Staff was apathetic
Pros. Absolutely loved the people and their help with recommendations. Helped to get a bit more of the local feel versus the tourist attraction hot spots. Have stayed before, but still a great location to get anything you want to get to, both inside and outside of the Quarter. Melanie and Allen were superb and always available and willing to go above and beyond.
Cons. Just had a couple of lights that were out, but was fine. Not much water pressure at ask, and would have been nice to have a little fridge, but no complaints.
Pros. location
Cons. room to be ready at checkin room to be at chateau not down the road. free parking 35$ extra? seriously
