Was a normal flight but it was delayed, and there wasn't an explanation.
Flight boarded from Gate 39 at OGG, the farthest gate in the terminal. There were no Hawaiian themed amenities for the flight. The first class service was mediocre at best; I received not special welcome or recognition as an executive platinum member of American Advantage program. The flight attendants were more concerned with their cell phones than saying "thank you" to the passengers as we disembarked. Fortunately, the flight arrived at LAX a few minutes early.
I didn’t like anything, being platinum pro get you absolutely nowhere and does not increase the customer service treatment whatsoever anymore. My flight was canceled and they put me on a flight eight hours later that would’ve got me back in the middle of the night. They could’ve easily move me up to an hour Prior on an earlier flight. My second flight was unreasonable to take, the third flight was also canceled due to mechanical issues like the first flight. I don’t know what’s going on with American, but they are falling apart, after seven flight changes I finally got home, Unreasonable.
The flights were terribly delayed and then cancelled which forced us booking another night at the hotel. Very poor management from American Airlines
Everything was on time, we arrived early, everything worked well.
Almost everything was outstanding. First, we boarded on time and the flight crew did a great job getting everyone seated. Then the pilots took their time and care to make sure the plane was full de-iced three times as there was a bad ice storm a few hours earlier. The plane ride was smooth and comfortable and even the economy seats had decent room and comfort. Flight Attendant Lisa went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable - she is outstanding. The only thing wrong with the flight, and it is something which needs to be addressed, is that the gate to gate time was over 6.5 hours and not one meal was served. The only thing offered to eat were two small cookies for a transcontinental flight - unacceptable. Charge me more but give me a meal for a long flight. Thankfully Lisa found something for me.
Kayak boarding information contained inaccuracies that would have not existed if booked directly with American. Paid for preferential boarding, was last to board.
Terrible. Extremely expensive. Monitor wasn’t working the whole flight 11 hrs and American didn’t offer anything. Change of seats, wifi etc. I’m expecting q compensation from the airline
Only thing that I liked it that I got to my destination safely, otherwise American Airlines stinks.
Airplane was cold. Flight attendants were rude. Phone charger did not work. No food available.
Terrible, We had to stay in Bogota for two days due to weather but the airline did not provide for the same day flight. Only two days later
Purchased a business class ticket and got a economy seat with center seat blocked they call it business. 3100usd ticket on a flight where economy costs 500usd The biggest scam insult have had on a regular airline. Avianca should be in the low cost category and kicked out of Star Alliance. I want the difference to be credited. Ets see what Avianca does. No reply so far. Avianca = low cost airline. Beware
Business class seats did not lie flat. There was only powdered milk for your coffee....in Business Class!! Food was good.
There isn't much space in-between seats and even water needs to be paid for during the flight.
I paid over $200 for seat selection for these flights and I was still stuck on long international flights in seats that do not recline and do not have the head support cushion. At this point basically all airlines have those for all seats, and this really took me by surprise and made me not ever want to travel on Avianca. The Kayak agent who called me for the seat selection (Donovan) was courteous, but it seems the system for this doesn't work. I was offered seat selection, for the $200+, but without being able to see what I was selecting, with no guarantee where I'd be...and then I still ended up in terrible seats. On my way to, and especially after, a very intense business trip, the seat situation really soured my experience.
The connection time is too short to pass through customs and once you do clear customs the connecting flight is in another terminal that is not close.

Poor In food , poor in entertainment , passengers don’t get for free not even water
The airline doesn’t provide nothing To their customers. No water , no food , no any drinks, no any kind of entertainment for free or at least paid with money cash currency . They sell some basic goods only credit card . Shame for an old international long distance trip. Never again .
