Courteous and helpful employees. Comfortable seats and temperature of aircraft . Did not need squid in my salad but glad to have the menu information advising me of what it was
Everything was great, except the Wifi, but that's understandable.
I purchased the ticket online and went to do online check in amd the app wouldnt let me. I went to the airline desk and they couldnt confirm my ticket in their system. I ended up having to buy a ticket from the airline directly and paying twice for the same flight. The app wouldnt lwt me check in the kayak purchased ticket until after my flight was taken off.
The plane was dirty, there was trash in the seat pocket in front of me.
Food was excellent, the crew was exceptionally friendly, and the seats were comfortable. Bathroom were also kept very clean and odor free.
They woke us up 2.5 hours before the flight was over? Why? If I'm on a long haul flight I want to sleep as much as possible. Also, didn't mention the mattress pads in business class so missed out on using those. The western meal of truffle, salmon pasta was the awful. Had a different fish dish on JAL that was great but that pasta was a mish-mash of too many random things that didn't make sense plus dry fish. Staff was friendly and helpful.
I loved Ryuichi Sakamoto's OPUS in the movie choice.
Too bad the plane didn't work after we taxied out to get in line for take-off. We went back to the gate and waited for almost 90 minutes for them to find a plane that worked. Waited another hour to board. When we got to Rochester we waited for over an hour for our bags to appear. The agent said they only had three people working to load and unload baggage. A one hour flight took an extra four hours. It would have been faster to rent a car at JFK and drive to Rochester.
Good legroom. Front seatback has best compartmentalization, netted pockets on sides of tv monitor for eyeglasses, water bottles etc. For Economy, best food across the Pacific. JAL doesn't skimp on quality to squeeze out more profit. No prepackaged items in plastic wrap. Cocktail service first with nibbles, Wine in your own 2 glass bottle. Later dinner service, more wine! Lastly, breakfast-lunch, more wine if you choose. Lastly, the friendliest most smiling crew across the Pacific.
Minimal legroom. Most passengers are respectful and don't recline. Outrageous long walk from Terminal One to Terminal Three.
Finding the gate was very confusing. Our boarding pass listed one gate and the staff verbally told us a different gate.
Plenty of overhead space but forced to check my carry-ons both legs
My flight attendant was attentive! The elderly person next to me was flatulent and the flight attendant could see that I was in distress and brought me some face masks

The departing flight from Newark to Charlotte was fine. It was the returning flight from Charlotte to Newark that was awful. We had scheduled an 8:35pm return flight time. We got delayed TEN times all the way to 5am in the morning! We were told over 4 different excuses as to why the flight kept getting delayed. First it was the flight crew needed to rest, then it was something technical with the plane, then it was something with air traffic control, and finally it was because they couldn’t find a captain and had to wait until the morning so the captain could get some rest. It was terrible sleeping overnight in the airport. They offered a $12 meal voucher. That was it! And the only place open in the middle of the night was Dunkin’ Donuts who didn’t even accept the voucher. They should have cancelled the flight much earlier on in the evening instead of just stringing us along hour by hour with more delays. Not professional and unacceptable. There was no refund for inconvenience. I probably will not be flying American Airlines again.
This leg they tried and did well with what they had to work from.
It was nice being on a flight that had working wifi. The boarding was quick - why don’t all airlines have small boarding groups window to aisle? Makes so much sense!!! I was disappointed to be the first person stopped to have to gate check my carryon. Especially when there was plenty of overhead space at the back! But I get it…keeps it moving. Crew was nice.
The flight was as good as it gets when flying. On time departure and arrival plus no lost luggage.
My boarding pass wouldn't pull up in the app very easily and had to really dig through my email. That caused a delay in TSA..
