FAQs - booking Greece flights

  • Should I buy a ticket that makes me change airports at a layover city?

Having to change airports in New York or London, for instance, can be challenging. There is usually no direct transport between airports in a major city, and it can be difficult getting across a city, considering your luggage, your budget, and your time limit. Before you book a ticket with an airport change, make sure all elements of such a change are feasible, especially the amount of time your ticket allows you.

  • What documentation do I need in order to fly to Greece?

As a US citizen, you will need a valid passport and that passport should have enough empty pages for each stamp that you will be getting. Your passport should remain valid for 6 months after your entry into Greece. No visa is required if you plan to leave Greece within 90 days.

  • Is Athens Airport easy to navigate?

Yes. Athens airport has a relatively simple and stream-lined layout. The main terminal has Halls A and B and this terminal is connected to a satellite terminal via a moving sidewalk underground and a walkway above ground. You will enjoy finding your way through the Athens Airport and enjoying various art installations and some 24-hour restaurants. You can also relax at executive lounges where you can pay at the door and you can get ready for a Grecian adventure by renting from an on-site car rental.

  • Can I get a direct flight from Austin to Athens?

If you are flying from Austin to Athens International Airport (ATH), it is unlikely that you will be able to find a direct flight. However, Finnair, British Airways, and American are among the many airlines that offer one-stop flights from AUS to ATH. London is very often the layover city.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Austin to Greece?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Austin to Greece.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Austin to Greece?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Greece from Austin is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Austin to Greece?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Greece with an airline and back to Austin with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Austin to Greece?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Greece from Austin up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Left on time and arrived early this extending our 31 minute transfer. Bags made it also!

Good and consistent Printer in lounge did not work for me :(

Most of my discomfort was going through TSA. However, the Delta seats had inadequate leg room and I tried my very best to connect to the wi-fi and it was a cumbersome process that finally gave me the info that I needed to sign in AFTER I had completed the flight...Why make it so difficult to use? That said I really really appreciate the pilot taking a little extra time to avoid a bad storm area and both landings in Atlanta and Orlando were flawless to my delight!!!

Delayed in taking off because no flight crew. The in seat entertainment was working properly.

All fine save for the abominable catering. Really gone downhill. We found it all inedible.

I upgraded to first class only to find out that I still had no access to the sky lounge without a sky miles card or AmEx (something that should be emphasized outside of the fine print!) Also, no food or drink service provided during the flight, so I basically paid 4x more just for “free” checked baggage and a bigger seat. Not worth it.

I appreciated friendly service from check-in, to boarding, to in-flight amenities! Attendants were accommodating and helpful. Thank you! Elaine

Delta was really good about being transparent with why we were delayed it’s just that’s the plane was really old and outdated and a lot of the comfort and amenities we know Delta to have did not shine through

Bottom seat cushion is almost non existent. Very uncomfortable seat.

Delta was great the entertainment was outdated. Screen was very small and didn’t work.

Long wait before take off without an update for 20 minutes. Flight was good otherwise.

Flight delayed over 2 hours . I was flying bussiness never got food cause they ran out of what i wanted

Flight was great my baggage was on time everywhere but my bags had been handled ruff cause they got damaged.

Flight crew was amazing! I don't like that the Polaris seats are side-by-side.

Everything was awful Flight attendant was condescending, rude and not helpful at all. Small outdated plane. No service, uncomfortable seats. Flight attendant was really the worst. He used hand gestures to communicate instead of words and whenever he used words he was condescending.

Poor and identical to the first two legs, except for the crew who were patient, professional and of pleasant and jovial disposition!

The entertainment would not work. The comfort of the seats leaves something to be desired, pretty uncomfortable.

My flight was completely full. Making me very stressful with people walking around all the time. I believe airlines can do better for entertain people during the flight.

Short flying. The seats do not recline at all and very uncomfortable.

Delayed over an hour due to paperwork not being filed correctly. Forced to change planes.

Problem with operation of on board entertainment computer. Failed about 1 /2 hour into the flight. Rebooting failed to restore.

Putting carryone size suitcase into the overhead luggage storage on a the small CR900 plane was cumbersome and its assignment to a far far gate w/o the moveable ramps at YYZ arrivals really stunk.

This flight was a lot more comfortable with more room than the Air Canada Rouge!!! We will never go rouge again! A yes to this one!!! It was so nice to have inflight entertainment! Also the carts came around twice for drinks or a snack!! Great experience all around!

AC flight attendants aren't overly friendly. Otherwise flight was fine.

Newark to Montreal was really good. The return flight was not so good with a substitute carrier was not as good. I was impressed by the AC staff all along the way. Their in flight stack was superior.

I’m handicapped and the staff and crew were so kind and helped me board and made sure I was fine during the flight.

The people are great! The trip to Japan is simply never ending!!! Not the problem of the airlines, though.

United agent at FLL excellent - due 55 min conx at ORD rerouted us on an earlier departure via DEN and got home 5 hours earlier than expected

I bought a ticket from Brussels to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA via Montreal. When I went to the airport, I learned that I needed a Canadian visa. When I bought the ticket online, there was no warning saying "If you are not a US or Canadian citizen; You need a Canadian visa." I asked for my money back, but the staff at the airport said they couldn't help me. I said, "Make the ticket open, I'll fly later," and they said no. I looked for this information on Air Canada's website. They've hidden it so well that it's impossible to find it easily. I understand that Air Canada makes millions of dollars in unfair profits by selling tickets this way. Why don't they ask when purchasing? They don't ask; because they're making money. Every year, perhaps thousands of tickets are subject to this situation. I will use all my rights and complain everywhere. Maybe they won't give me my money back, but I would advise anyone buying ticket to be careful from now on.

Friendlier staff who are nice to the elderly who need assistance

Sorry, I’m not a fan of United. The seats are just too cramped and uncomfortable if you are traveling very far.

I am not sure I like the new Discover line of Lufthansa. I have been flying from us to Italy for the past 30 years and always favored Lufthansa ove other Companies because of cleanliness, service, food, beverage. When compared white other airlines Lufthansa was always considered one of the best. I can't say that anymore. I fly Lufthansa only because I consider the line MCO to FRA timely convenient for my schedule but always look for alternatives when before I was considering other routes only if the price was in question.

Crew and service was excellent. My seat was super small and cramped! No leg room

Staff was great. Space in bathrooms was very good. Boarding went smoothly due to aisles. I would like more room in coach. 2 more inches would be helpful. Lost luggage was a big issue; more on the administrative side than flight related, but diminished the flight experience.

Good but entertainment system was not easy and very buggy

Actual flight was smooth but we were delayed 70 minutes. Were promised to make it up to us but were given no refreshments

Flight was cancelled and I got rebooked with anther airline. Also had booked a direct flight and got a layover.

Did not fly HOU to SAT as flight was cancelled.

Very nice. Crew was excellent and our seats had great legroom which we paid extra for so I highly recommend this option when flying internationally.

Zero legroom or space in economy. Flight was delayed into Munich causing a missed connecting flight and other missed bookings. :(

Late in leaving the US. Late in arriving in UK. 2 plua hous on ground in UK before leaving. Late in arriving in Spain. Didn't get our bags until the next night.

British Airways canceled my flight and I had to fly on Lufthansa the next day. What a garbage airline 🗑️

3 hr delay. No water given while on the plane for 3hrs.

No fast track available, no organisation. Unpleasant boarding system at gate 20 at JFK. When giving feedback to the lounge team I was told to talk to the manager instead of taking the feedback.

The whole experience was great. The only improvement would be the entertainment selection

Flight attendant kept banging her cart into my aisle seat. Hard. Couldn’t lean seat back. Should be warned of limitations when booking seat

I will travel by BA only in future also. Only suggestion is they should give aisle seat in front near washroom for senior citizens

Economy extremely cramped. Dinner was not good. Breakfast was quite good. Crew was excellent.

It was good overall. Entertainment was ok, one of the TV screens had issue. Bit old plane but leg space was good. Overhead luggage had good space. The worst part was experience at Heathrow airport, it was total chaos.

Comfortable, pleasant staff, quiet, good entertainment, food, drinks. Better than American (flight back) when we were crammed in and staff sometimes indifferent.
