Pros:

Alamo is my go-to car rental company now. Very friendly service, and their phone agents are really helpful if there's any problems. Especially when you pick up and drop off a car in different locations, which I often do.

Cons:

The only problem was picking up and dropping off at locations that are NOT airports. Always call the locations before you go and know their hours of operation. These are not 24/7 satellites. One place closed at 6 pm; another at 2 pm!

Pros:

The cost to rent a "premium" car was very reasonable and brought us out to Stamford. Robert, the office manager, was very personable and nice to work with.

Cons:

The car (a Chrysler 300) had about 30K miles so it was far from new. It was filthy inside and out. The windshield was dirty on the inside which made it hard to see in some conditions. The oil was overdue to be changed and it dinged a reminder every time we started up to go somewhere. Also, it had a badly warped brake rotor. Also, it was, unfortunately, an uncomfortable car for me and not very nice to drive.

The gentleman at checkout in Stamford was quick and professional.

Cons:

The car had the wrench symbol (I.e. it was due for servicing) from the get go. The engine did not sound great and rattled such that I was concerned the car was going to break down on me. The car's tank was only 7/8 full and I had to tell the agent, who had marked it as full on my rental agreement. When I called in to change my drop-off location it took forever to get someone on the line.

Did not answer my questions about drop off correctly in case charges extra. Manager was super rude because my passenger had left an item in the car after we turned in the keys which he considered “lost” even though they were exactly where I said they were. He then stated I was trying to rewrite their “lost and found” policy. Would never rent again from this location or enterprise because they also were no help in any of this.

The first car was extremely dirty and the interior smell of cigarette. I've asked the attendant to change cars. I got another one that was dirt in the outside but at least didn't smell. The attendant at the checkin had an attitude that can not be compared with the other AVIS The person at checkout was great.

The drop off location at TF Green airport is very confusing. Not budgets fault though.

Cons:

I was 37 minute late and they tried to charge me $109 in late fees. I argued it down to 28 dollars, but the additional charge - almost a full day's fee! - was completely ridiculous.

Even though the budget guy said I had the option of dropping off the car after hours (if I were a day early) when I arrived the place was locked up like fort knox and I had to make an additional 3 hour round trip to bring the car back *during my work day.* This was extremely frustrating and the fact that it was avoidable given proper signage or instruction, made it downright maddening.

I made a reservation and got dropped off at the hertz location. The guy in the office said they didn’t have any cars. I showed him my reservation and he said it didn’t matter and they didn’t have any cars available and everyone in the office was sick. I’m not sure how that affects the number of cars but it certainly made me feel uncomfortable. I asked what Hertz policy is to help someone dropped off with a reservation and no cars available and he said “nothing, read the fine print.” I went to Avis down the road and had a wonderful experience and even for a free upgrade for less than the hertz quoted rate.

Reserved a minivan, but got a suv instead with little space for luggage. I had to leave some stuff behind for my trip because there’s was no space. The third row seats are useless, they are only good for toddlers. It was a nightmare!! Never again will I rent a ca car from hertz.

There is no age limit listed or age fee loses when purchasing the rental through your app, nor does Hertz make any more of r in follow up emails. So as a 23 year old I easily made a reservation only to be informed 2 days before my pick up that actually the cost would be five times the quoted price and if I wanted to cancel I’d be charged a $50 fee. Seems like hertz and Kayak don’t mins tricking young travelers into renting cars of that means they get to keep the $50 cancellation fee. Lucky I didn’t actually waste my time going to my pickup because I would’ve been very upset and would’ve wasted even more money.

-Salesman committed fraud stating insurance was $40 for the duration when it was closer to $50 a day -Salesman committed fraud by implying my insurance does not cover rentals (he's acting inappropriately by hinting knowledge of my personal life....my insurance is not public....and it does cover rentals thankfully....but crossing that customer/business veil is inappropriate conduct and edging on safety concerns... -No handicap accessibility concerns, I am disabled, their disabled stall was closed but when I asked they said it was working, having me walk around the building in pain with my cane to find out it's broken. Not handicap friendly -They did not reserve us the Toyota we requested instead substituting for a Charger GT which consumes more gas and is more inconvenient to park than a smaller Toyota, this business tactic may have been done to increase my chances of scratching the car as I not being used to driving it may be likely to make a scratch or, they may have wanted us to forget about all their surcharges once we filled the GT for $120 then their little fraudulent surcharges seem small in comparison...sunken cost fallacy...disgraceful company...

We were lucky the front desk was empty at our arrival so it was quick. They looked at our car insurance and confirmed we didn’t need their insurance. The car was clean. But if you rent baby seats, they are more expensive s than the rental itself.

We are very desappointed because we did not pay the price we booked (about +50%) because there were lots of additionnal charges like the mandotory assurance (we didn’t know we needed to proove that we had a personnal assurance, if so, we should asked a proof to our insurrance to avoid the additionnal charges), a deposit of 2000$ and we were charged because we paid it by card, the car was old with lots of miles and they told us we were not allowed to drive 200miles away from New Orleans. Hopefully our trip was next New Orleans, but if you want to make a road trip it’s a problem. The last, but not least you can read on the door office that the price can change depending on the customer ! I really don’t recommand this Rental.

Absolutely awful. I pre-paid for this car rental and when I arrived to the Payless counter, I was told that no cars were available! Calling Payless customer service was useless. They said that the best they could do is to process a refund... how was that going to help? I was stuck at Indianapolis Airport with no means of getting to my final destination. I experienced a mechanical issue during my trip. The car I rented might have had some issue before I picked it up. I was asked to pickup another car in another city at no additional cost when I contacted customer care. I did pick up the new vehicle but they charged me 3x more than what the original rental agreement said. This is despite their assurance I won’t be charged extra for the vehicle swap. Dollar’s customer service is the worst I have seen in a decade. They can’t internally route calls to other departments and has insane wait times. The only redeeming thing is that the store manager at DFW airport helped me adjust the rental price to we originally agreed upon. Probably won’t rent again. This is disappointing because Hertz owns Dollar and I always thought Hertz had good customer service.

The agent I worked with at the counter when picking up the vehicle was excellent, and I am sorry, but I don't have her name handy. Hopefully, you all can see that from the paperwork and will give her kudos, as she did a fantastic job and was super friendly and helpful. She is a valuable asset to your company. I watched her work with the customers before me, and they left with the same sense of gratitude that I had when I finished working with her. Especially after the day I had been traveling.

Being Scammed for fuel is not a good experience especially from a brand such as Sixt. I rented a car with a supposed full tank. the Car is a small Car and that can hardly burn more than 5/6 litres per 100km. After I drove 130 KM and returned the car, I had to fill in 15.3 liters . this only means one thing, the car was not full. the second car I rented and that I am still driving, shows 670km autonomy and a small red band at the fuel level indicator. Again NOT Full. I have no idea what games are being played at this location with Fuel, but it looks like a Scam to me. SIXT Better ACT
