Economy

It was not good experience with budget. Fist they gave a which not I was booked. I received a car KIA picanto, I am 6 feet tall and it was very difficult for me to adjust. I found car wheel alignment was not correct and was risky to drive because when I tried to make steering straight it’s go left. I called their customer service but they refused to change the car. Rather the the customer service told me a magic information, “KIA manufactures this type of car that all car’s steering are moved in left, they are not straight” I had nothing to say, I stopped using the car.

Agent was great at desk. When we got to car pick up we were offered an Audi SUV. Even though it was only a year old it was quite used. Also very uncomfortable seats to drive in. We drove a lot and not suitable for it. Also no charger for phones unless you had an older one. Radio not that wonderful either. Had rented and paid for a luxury vehicle that one had it in name only. Not pleased.

Good experience, nice staff! Super modern car that had no problems. I wish however there were more possibility to pick-up and drop-off the car outside usual working hours. On the weekend, they were only open until 3pm for drop-off. But all in all good experience! Thank you Asu for helping us!

I was not given a damage slip or told to look at the damage ahead of time on my rental car. I was told (through an email) that a scratch was there that had not been there before my rental. I drove the car the entire time with the exception of valets at my hotel and did not cause damage. Because I did not get to inspect it and was not given a form to do so, I do not have evidence that something happened under my watch and just have to take their word. I also would have liked them to tell me when I turned the car in, as I did not have a chance to see what they are saying I did. It all feels pretty unfair. This could have been resolved if they had given me a damage form ahead of time.

A smooth experience. When I didn't like the car and asked for a replacement, they didn't express any disapproval — instead, they supported me and suggested an another car which was great. The only drawback was nearly 40min wait in the line.

In the SFO airport, at the Hertz service desk, the Filipino lady was speaking very rudely. When I told her that I would complaint online, then she started to change her tone. This kind of staffs will spoil the name of Hertz.

They had me check in online, and then said I couldn't check in online as I bought through a voucher. Then said i couldn't pick out a car online, then stood in the LONG LONG line at the airport counter, at which point they messaged me to pick out a car online and they WOULD let me skip the line and go directly to my car (saving me at least 1 1/2 hrs.

Hi I was charged twice for my rental car. I've emailed kayak and Hertz and have not heard back. I'm upset that I've paid an extra $870 for my rental and have not received any response as to how to be refunded for this mistake. Thank you

Supplier choice

Even though we had a car reserved and used the online check-in, we had to wait for almost an hour in line (and then check in again). They did not have the car we reserved available (even though we reserved it not long in advance). The bathrooms were disgusting.

My poor experience about pricing transparency. The cost of the rental car was 30% more than the kayak quote, and the initial estimate from thrifty. I was charged the additional 30% after returning the car, and had zero add ons. The receipt / charges are extremely unclear what the additional cost was. I attempted to reach out to their customer service and the process is to send a vague complaint form . I feel like I was scammed- but have no recourse- I definitely will not be using thrifty ever again. Also in the car pick up, the process took more than an hour and the first car had a check engine light on, that I needed to change cars

Terrible. Just pay the extra $20-40 and go with Alamo. They were not ready with our car, they were not giving updates, we waited an hour. Finally we went to the Alamo counter and asked how quickly we could get a car... it was immediately. I tried to cancel my thrifty reservation that was free to cancel and the chat support was giving me attitude and not allowing me to cancel. After some back and forth I called and canceled with ease. THEN, the car was "ready"... Never again!

In advance of our trip I made a reservation for a van for my family of 6. When we arrived they did not have one available. They gave us a Traverse which is a SUV with a third row. There was room for my family to sit in it but there was no room for our luggage. I expected at making a reservation for a specific vehicle that it would be there. Isn't that the whole point of a reservation? I also felt very pressured to buy a bunch of their rental options even after saying no.
