What are the cons of staying at Ibis Frankfurt Messe West?
Quite expensive parking (12€). No kettle facilities in room. unclean wash room. No fridge. Ice cold room!! No real bar but might be because its off season but not a problem. Rude receptionist. there is no bottle of water in the room on arrival or safety deposit box. It was overpriced, maybe because of the bookfair happening. If I paid half, I would have loved it and rated it better. For 160 eur per night I would have expected much more than a basic room and breakfast in the middle of nowhere. Slight misunderstanding with concierge staff about the food service. All cleared up in the end. The Wifi was really bad. I had to reconnect approximately every 2 to 5 minutes. Breakfast is €15 nothing special but convenient if you do not want to venture out. The website and signs at the hotel said there was food 24/7 but I arrived at 930pm and there was no way to get food at the hotel. This should either be communicated before hand or there should actually be food available. Arriving in the evening expecting there to be food but there not being any is quite frustrating. Nothing to complain about. Nothing. Nothing. The washbasin plug in room 406 was broken, so we had trouble letting the dirty water drain away. Apart from that we throughly enjoyed our self’s. Not much anything else , eg gym or fitness center, or a lounge. The dining menu of “Hungarian goulash with bread” was “without bread” needs to be corrected. 1- house keeping knock the door on us at 9 AM while we are sleeping, and open the door suddenly don't care if you are naked or sleep, they open door twice and we are not ready to give them room , it's really bad thing we don't like, when we said to her we don't ready she started shouting in German, we don't understand what she said, I always stay in ibis hotel in every city we visit first time face problem like this with house keeping, that they usually ask me what time would like to clean room in other ibis hotels not open door suddenly , I am really shocked 2- room very small 3- no tea or coffee even water in room , they should but mini bar in room even it's baid , don't need to go to reception every time even you need water or tea. A bit loud near road. -the entry card often did not work, I have to hurry for 4 times to concierge to fix -rechip - the card /from the 4th floor/ -unsufficient number of elevators -the lady assistant in the breakfast room looks unhappy..no smile at all..no greeting.. the air was really dry and too warm. the temperature control unit did not work at all. basically had sleep with the window open all night. very basic rooms with well worn bed linen. very basic rooms with well worn bed linen. There were only two towels. Dim lights. There were only two towels. Dim lights. There was a cost for early check-in. Even if the room was ready and even if it was only a couple of hours before. no refrigerator in room. There is no fridge and ketley for making coffee. I didn’t have breakfast here but honestly because it didn’t look good and I chose not to buy it. You are better off eating outside for same price. I didn’t like that at 8.30am the room service comes in (after knocking and not waiting for your answer) to ask if you are checking out. In my personal opinion, I think it would be great to have water for drinking in the room. taken extra charges, bed was uncomfortable. 2 bed in one single room , no space to properly go to bed, while taken charges very high, small cup of coffee, almost half cup taken euro 3.5, which is absolutely wrong. No kettles and coffee in the room. Could not find cupboard for keeping our belongings, valuables etc. Could not find cupboard for keeping our belongings, valuables etc. Would have been nice to have a tea/coffee station in the room. Poor breakfast. Breakfast is paid, but as far as I can see, it is not enough at all. The hotel is a bit old but that's okay.
