An older but very well kept hotel. Cozy lobby with nice seating around a fireplace.
Cute boutique hotel. Smallish rooms, but fantastic location within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and amenities. Great neighborhood!
Pros. Fun area, good for us as it's near family here, always a welcome option. Beds very comfy. Friendly.
Pros. Location was good, and it was nice to have the option for parking in the ramp around the corner. The staff was friendly enough but not very helpful with the issues with our radiator. The price seemed reasonable, although less so when we saw how small the room was, how noisy the radiators were, and how thin the walls were.
Cons. Heat is provided by old-timey radiators which clank and are hard to control. The front desk wasn't very helpful when we couldn't get one closed (we were roasting)- they just said, "turn the knob" (duh). Thanks to paper-thin walls, we got to hear all the noise from the hallway, plus the couple upstairs, um, coupling on a squeaky bed. The breakfast was disappointing.
Pros. Front desk very helpful. Room spacious. Beds very comfortable.
Cons. Hallway dingy. Room furniture sparing and dingy. Room doesn't have a closed off closet. Carpet and walls could be brighter.
Pros. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Paul was so polite and upgraded my room so my daughter, with whom I was visiting, could stay with me and we could each have our own beds.
Cons. My room had a hint of cigarette smoke when we first arrived. I had to spray it. The sign clearly stated NO SMOKING.
Pros. The place is in an old building, which is cool, but also has its drawbacks. I liked the feel of the place generally. It's definitely not posh, and you won't break the bank to stay here.
Cons. The bathroom was pretty lousy. Low shower head, toilet was on a tilt, and the room itself needs updating.
Pros. Bathroom was too small. The door hits the toilet, would have liked to have a comfortable. Chair or couch. Shower just trickles. The toilet clogged. Twice. Staff was great and took Carr of the clogs immediately
Cons. The radiator was SUPER noisy, and we were unable to control the temperature so it was not a good night of sleep. We were told it was being addressed the day we checked out, so we'd be willing to try them again. Cute place.
Pros. Size of beds, room, and bathrooms were great (we booked a 2 Queen room). Room was very quiet and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of space for our young children to run and play a bit before bed. The location is also great with plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Thanks to the attentive staff at check-in, I also managed to snag the last free street parking spot immediately in front of the hotel.
Cons. Age/quality of bathroom wasn't great, the little electric heater in the wall wasn't enough to make up for the cold air leaking in around the window-mounted air conditioner, and the breakfast wasn't that impressive (cereal, bagels, yogurt, and microwave sandwiches).
