The resort looked beautiful when we arrived Christmas night 2021. At check in we were told there was a resort fee of 16% of the daily rate which was about $485. The resort fee allowed us access to the rooftop bar/lounge, MIST now known as KUMO, the rooftop pool, the hotel restaurant downstairs, the gym in the basement, and the beach amenities; lounge chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. Pros (+) The location across from the beach is very good
Cons (-) The hotel is more of a 2 1/2 star hotel. The location is great, the beds are clean and comfortable but the rest of the room is old, tile floor cracks and broken, bathroom small and needs renovation. The hotel restaurant only serves breakfast. The roof bar-lounge serves reasonable bar food. Overall the services is unethusiastic and slow. Again a very good 2 1/2 star hotel not a 4 star

Pros (+) Location great. Staff very helpful.
Cons (-) Mist bar too windy. Hotel looks terrible during day but hides it all at night with darkness and blue lights. Gym is worst I have ever experienced. It is empty of equipment and miniature. Pool is overly small. I have been all over the world and this was the worst value for my money ever. This is truly worth $150 per night max.

Pros (+) Location is pretty good -- right across from the sea, and in the middle of Isla Verde.
Cons (-) Looks like an poor old building with a little jazzed up lighting to make it "hip" -- and charge the extra $$$. For some reason staff seemed bored and unfriendly (in total contrast to other good hotels in SJ -- like El Convento, and the Vanderbilt).
