If you are attending the Cannes Film Festival, which is held at Palais des Festivals et des Congres, plan ahead, as the top hotels usually book out early. The area around La Croisette is a wise place to stay, with plenty of restaurants, bars, deluxe apartments and upscale beachfront hotels in the area, such as Hotel Le Festival.
Only about 5 km west of the city centre, the La Bocca neighbourhood is a great option for families, as the prices are usually more affordable. You will find a range of self-catering Cannes holiday homes in this area, such as the family-friendly Residence Etoile de Mer, which can accommodate up to six guests.
La Croisette is the promenade between the beach and the city in Cannes. There are a number of fine beaches in the area, including Plage Royale and Baoli Beach, where you can swim or try windsurfing and parasailing.
