Older Motel, customer service was excellent, room was clean (I'm the one who moves furniture to check), stayed two nights in two different rooms, first room the TV was fuzzy on most stations and the remote buttons didn't seem to work properly (should have mentioned it but I forgot. Second room for some reason although the shower was better than the first, the water smelled not so great...there was some construction in the area so that may have been why. Small grab and go breakfast in the morning. Pool is closed for the winter season. There is a teeny fitness room that consists of one of each a Treadmill, elliptical and recumbent bike. For the price it worked for me.
Pros. Room was spacious, clean.
Cons. Second floor, stairs only to lug your stuff up to the second floor. Breakfast employee was too goofy.
Pros. Location is good, staff friendly and the price reasonable. Good value!
Cons. It is a little older but you get what you pay for.
Pros. If you are going to Bend to explore the area and just need a bed and some breakfast, this place works fine. If you are looking to spend your entire time at the Inn and not out exploring the area, stay somewhere more fancy.
Cons. The carpet is a bit rough on bare feet, but that is not a deal-breaker.
Pros. Most 2-3 star Bend motels are way out of town. This one is centrally located, which was perfect for us as we needed to shuttle back and forth to the climbing gym. This also made it close to the Bite of Bend festival, and other leading restaurants around town center. Days Inn was a good $200 cheaper, cumulatively, than the next comparable motel, and that one was way out of town with its only on-paper advantage being an indoor pool. So good value. The pool is outdoor and the first 2 days were chilly, but the water is almost bath-warm, so going in was not a problem. The breakfast is not stellar, but definitely ample, with the the headline dish changing every day (waffle, oatmeal, etc.), but omelettes, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, etc. available every morning.
Cons. They did some superficial renovations (paint, appliances, bathroom decor, etc.), but the beds are not very good, and the room as well as the entire building, feels outdated. Also, there was a bunch of long-stay young men (probably on some work detail) who were getting up at 5:30 every morning and idling their diesel truck for very long minutes. The first morning they were even yelling and laughing; later that day I asked one of them to be less loud at 5:30, and this didn't repeat. They still idled their truck right in front of our room the next morning. The last morning we lucked out; their truck was a few doors down ;) It is the hotel's responsibility to make sure they observe quiet-hours etiquette. The early-morning person can notice if people are making too much noise that early in the morning, esp. on a weekend when the motel is full. Last but not least, it'll be nice to have an extra 30-60 minutes for breakfast in the weekend. A 9:00 end time on Saturday or Sunday morning is a bit tight ;)
