The downtown pick up/drop off place was abysmal - on the 6th floor of a poorly marked building in downtown Seattle with two addresses - 8th street and Pike Street? And no explicit directions or map by email for the customer. The multi-month rental otherwise fit our needs.

Something happened that I ended paying twice as much as Kayak had quoted me. That is why I rate my experience as POOR. Please check the original reservation in Kayak. Was it picking up in Washington and returning in San Antonio Texas?

My complaint is not with Hertz but with Kayak. I specifically asked for a rental car pickup at Sea-Tac airport and Kayak gave me a rental that had to be picked up in Bellevue. I would not use Kayak again to rent a car or recommend that anyone else use them because of this deceptive tactic.

Supplier choice

I did NOT rent from Avis. My intention was to rent an Avis car at Sea-Tac airport thus I selected Sea-Tac airport. Avis app steered(ahem) me to a vehicle in Bellevue by switching the pickup location as I worked through the reservation process. I believe I fell victim to a” bait and switch” where the search process shows cheap rental rates close to desired pickup location without highlighting the change thus ensnaring me as a customer. I canceled with Avis and rented elsewhere.

Compact SUV

Horrible after my reservation was confirmed I arrived for the pick up of the vehicle and was told at that moment that they had over rented the vehicle I had gone to pickup. Then they told me they didn’t have any more vehicles and that they were sorry for the inconvenience. Paid $45 for a Lyft and spent 40 min getting there to come out with no vehicle.
