Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

Pickup and drop off take a lot of time. It will take an hour from reaching the pickup spot until you have a car. There’s a $1500.00 deposit, which they keep for a week after you return the vehicle. They want to see your insurance for YOUR vehicle (???) as well as the insurance documentation you plan to use, such as credit card. My confirmation clearly stated it was unlimited mileage but it was not. There are fees for driving out of province. Fees for extra driver (that’s not all that’s unusual) This takes way too much time, is misrepresented and there are hidden fees. Also… attitude. I would not recommend this place.

The vehicle was very good value. It was not however very clean, and the gas tank was not fully topped up. It was under filled by about 12 litres of gas according my top up upon return of the vehicle. I mentioned this to the rental associate, and I was told it would be mentioned to management. No feedback so far. Regards, Mr. Jose Costa

If you do not arrive within 1-2 hours of your reservation time, they give your car away and don't have backups for you! EVERYONE in that arrived on my shuttle were in the same boat; they didn't have any of our vehicles; they were simply telling everyone that their reservation is cancelled, we'll receive our money back (eventually), and we just need to go elsewhere to find a car last minute, at night. IT WAS A DISASTER! Thank God one of the guys working there took pity on my group since I had my 80 year old parents with me, and managed to find another vehicle for us. It was smaller than what we rented, but at least it was a vehicle. I'm thankful to the employee who bent over backwards to find us a vehicle, but York's policy of re-renting everyone's cars if they are not there within 1-2 hours is CRAZY! Everyone else got screwed. It was an awful experience. Oh, it it took HOURS for all of that to get settled. 0/5 stars.

I picked up a dirty car. Then I called to ask to extend my reservation one day to which they agreed and gave a me a quote. To my surprise the bill for my rental was over 100$ more than I was quoted on the phone. When i called to contest they told me it was a late fee. When i protested that I called to extend the reservation they told me they had no record of it. I even tried to send them the phone record of me calling them the day before and talking for 10 mins and they disregarded it. Horrible company(budget) horrible experience.

I made a reservation for 1pm in Miami Beach at 4332 Collins Ave. I arrived at Alamo at 1pm. There was a line of 100 people and only 2 people working for Alamo. I waited for almost 2.5 hours and finally got my car at 3:27pm. You owe me for 2.5 hours that I paid for but didn’t use plus wasting 2.5 hours of my life.

Rented in Miami Beach. I don’t like the fact cars are not full of gas when rented out. We only had a 1/4 tank and had to find a gas station early on in the trip versus having it full at the start and then leaving it full

Staff was exceptionally rude. Our reservation was for 12pm but the manager was closing early that day. He told us to wait out front while he went inside to check on our reservation. Then he locked the door behind him, turned out the lights and left through a back entrance! Terrible!!! (So terrible, it was Hilarious!) But really, how could he behave so unprofessionally? He just left us out there. Would it have been so hard to say “sorry we have to close early today I can’t help you?”

Cons:

He could have not left us standing outside and not locked the door and not snuck out the back door and not lied to us. He could have honored our contract with Hertz and delivered our car.

Nothing. It was the worst rental Experience I ever had.

I had a reservation for noon and I called and asked are they strict on the time for appointments because I was at work and couldn’t make noon and I would be there on my lunch break between 2-3, they young lady said no. I get there to pick up my rental and they rented the car I reserved. Next they tell me they “upgraded” be to an SUV which is not what I wanted. The car also wasn’t ready so I have to wait about 20-30 minutes. I also changed the time I was going to keep the rental and they end up charging me more because it’s spring break. I get that part but I live locally and already suffering from having been in a car accident so I felt the up charge was ridiculous. I drove the vehicle less than a mile back to work. I drove less than one mile home that night and had a flat tire the next day. I’m told I’m responsible for the tire. The Hertz office did take care of it but eventually said it was a nail in the tire. I find it hard to believe after such a horrible experience that that was the case. I believe the air pressure in the tires was low because they rushed to get it ready. And I would have never been in this situation had they not rented out my car I reserved. Either way, I was already majorly inconvenienced by having to rent a car in the first place and make arrangements via Uber and rearrange my work schedule and the entire experience was awful. I will never use Hertz ever again nor will I recommend via word of mouth.

To start we were not able to get the car. Upon arrival while raining cats and dogs the sales person proceeded to inform us that he didn’t have a car available. He sent us back to wait for him to have a car but without the warranties to have one and without a timeline. We were forced to change plans. He also told us that we should rent direct with them, they prioritize those and this is not the first time I get that feedback, bad business for Kayak.

Lady at the desk was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Reserved a convertible. Not only did they not have a convertible, but they actually didn’t have ANY cars available at the time we reserved. And we had a tour booked that we were trying to make. After an hour they told us that they’d located a car but that it was getting an oil change and therefore may take another hour. So we canceled, ubered to Budget, and got a car on the spot.

This was an awful experience. Showed up with a reservation, and after waiting in an empty office for 20 min, someone finally showed up and said they were completely backed up and didn’t have any cars available whatsoever. 13 groups of people were waiting ahead of me who had been there for hours waiting. We had a 2 day car rental, and they said they couldn’t guarantee a car by tomorrow. What’s the point of a reservation if they don’t give you a car? They shouldn’t have given us a reservation if they didn’t have cars available because we could have at least rented from another company. We had to lyft the rest of the weekend, which was a pain because we have newborns and car seats.

I arrived a few hours after my rental appointment time and was told the rental had been automatically cancelled after two hours. Have never heard of this type of policy and was not informed of the cancellation in any way, so found this very unprofessional. They had no cars so we had to scramble to find one elsewhere. Will not return to this rental location.

We are LA locals and tried to rent a car for the day from the Ace by LAX. We were attracted by the competitive rates, but once we arrived to the rental place it was a nightmare. First, no real person wanted to acknowledge us or help when we asked for assistance. Instead we could only speak to an associate who was video chatting on an iPad in the store. Second, absolutely none of the cars that were listed online were accurate. We reserved a large van which was listed on the site and specifically chose Ace over other companies because they listed it as available and offered the best price. But the closest vehicle they had available was a mid size SUV. Not at all what we wanted or needed. Lastly, the customer service was really sub par. Everyone acted like we were an inconvenience and wasting their time as we were trying to make the transaction. Also, another annoy aspect was that they required a lot to rent from them, including utility bills and $1000 deposit. It seemed excessive and they wouldn’t accept a bill listed in my husband’s name even though it’s our household bill. Just too many hoops to jump through for very poor service and not finding the vehicle you need wanted in the first place. Their ads are pure clickbait. 👎🏻👎🏻

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

This raised my costs from $40 to over $200 for 3 days. Even if it WAS technically my mistake, this imbalance in costs feels intentional on their part and like a slightly dishonest way to do business.

It may be wise to not allow this company to transact on kayak as their business practices are questionable at best. Issue: 1. Unexplained transportation, till you arrive in LAX, that consists of a lengthy bus ride and shuttle to arrive at the car rental location. 2. This business does not inform and does not allow its customers to use the coverage on a credit card for insurance. 3. This business does not accept the kayak insurance that is advertised as a way to save time and money, 4. Does not accept private insurance and says the deductibles are not high enough. 5. These practices leave a customer with the only option to accept and pay a higher rate than the kayak car insurance. 6. Thankfully, while attempting to understand the reasons why this information was not shared and while attempting to remedy these issues, a gentleman entered the building saying he just experienced a tire blowout, had to change the tire on his own as they would not respond to his calls and wanted another car to which they initially responded they he would have to pay for the new tire and another rental - deplorable. Please stop predatory companies such as Economy Rent a Car from operating on your website. At a minimum, I am requesting a full refund for this reservation that was not used.

Shuttle from SD airport to main car park garage. Then NU picks up but not until after 8am. We arrived 7:30 and waited in cold on outside bench. Upon off site arrival one clerk to handle 3-4 customer groups. He was courteous but none of our cars were prepped for drive off. I didn’t like a thing. They were in an inconvenient location. They took an hour to check me in and then the car wasn’t ready so waited another half hour just to be told the car hatch was broken. Then they proceeded to give me a filthy car with the most foul smell inside. Inside was disgusting with stains and ripped carpet. The email from Easirent with information about my car rental listed Charlotte as the airport instead of Las Vegas which caused me unnecessary confusion and concern. When I tried calling the phone number listed, I was connected to an international agency with an automated message saying they were closed. The email from Easirent also did not explain that we would be taking two separate shuttles to get to the rental center causing further confusion. It was not communicated that Easirent was offsite.

I would have liked more accurate price quoting. Price was listed as $240 for a "special class car." I was offered the lowest level compact they had. On top of that, I was informed the actual price for rental would be THREE TIMES as much as I had already paid. I had to google the company and figure it out after I already head to the rent a car center and had to head back. They wouldn’t send a pickup until I texted them my id and insurance. I arrived, and they had the wrong car. They had an SUV-type 7-seater, but I booked a people carrier van. They didn't have any available, so I had to wait 90 minutes with 3 children for the car to be ready. They claimed the issue with the booking was with Kayak/Expedia, and they made me pay the difference in upgrading the car. I showed them the booking confirmation and the picture of the van/people carrier with 9 seats, but they still made me pay. I was so tired and knew I needed the van that I had to pay to get out of the place. The manager was helpful, and the people were lovely. But I find all car rental places to be borderline crooks. This just confirmed it again for me. There are ridiculous add-ons for mileage, car seats for kids (a legal requirement), insurance, and excess. The list goes on.

When I went to pickup my car, I had to wait ~1 hour to speak with someone at the desk. The agent I spoke to at the desk lied to me and said that I cannot use my personal auto insurance and had to use their plan. I call their corporate number later and the confirmed that agent was incorrect and refunded my money spent on the insurance. The car they had reserved for me was stuck behind several cars on the lot and inaccessible. Because of this they tried to give me another vehicle in the same class. The replacement they picked had visible damage/dent to the multiple panels, doors, and bumper. I started documenting all the damage in detail and taking pictures, the agent started getting visibly annoyed. He ended up providing me with a different car in the end. When I came time to drop off the vehicle, the lot nearly full and there was a line extending into the street just to enter the lot. I'm still waiting to deposit to be returned and I anticipating that I will need to call their corporate office again. This was an extremely poor experience through and through. I will never rent from Mexrentacar ever again, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.

I took an Uber instead of the metro and then the shuttle. It was quicker and $18. The cost was affordable. When I got to the rental place, I had a pleasant experience until talk of insurance. She tried to sting arm me into getting their insurance. I held my ground and refused. My personal insurance covers a rental. My experience was no longer pleasant and her attitude changed. The car was small but fuel efficient and was a great value for the $. Drop off was quick, pleasant, and easy. A shuttle took us straight to our departure. It would be great if U-Save expanded to Hawaii.

When you get there after a long flight and a a long drive from Mimai Airport to get there....they tell you we do not accept American Express cards. It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.

Rented a 12 passenger van for a college trip with students to study marine biology in southern Florida for 3 weeks. Reservation and rental agreement indicated $889 as total price, $500 (approx) downpayment was made at reservation. Upon arrival, they charged me $1,500 and said there is some required insurance although my University pays for full insurance on all fleet rentals. I do not see this in the details on expedia. The van was in poor condition - dent in the back with cracked bumper from a prior accident. One seat was literally zip-tied on. Two seats did not have seat belts so effectively serves as a 10 passenger vehicle. The zip-tied seat and missing seat belts would be against the law so I have reported this to Florida's Attorney General office for investigation.

Overall very good experience, great value, only negatives were they tried to soft upsell the car and coverage but weren’t forceful when I declined. At pick up the car had dings and missing spare tire (and no personnel around when you get the car, you just walk to it from the terminal) but they did not try to charge us for it upon return. Would rent there again.

The pick up process wad complicated. You have to speak to someone on a screen, and then they require that you go around the vehicle and take a lot of pictures to stay within the contract requirements. This made the pickup process complicated and stressful. Once familiar with the process, the drop off was easier and I would think it’s easy going forward, but it was complicated the first time.

I suppose it’s the future. So you aren’t actually seeing someone in person. The instructor comes on the screen and everything is done virtually. Not bad or good, just very different for those who’ve never experience it.

It wasnt the car that we had originally rented. It was nice but was not big enough for our party. We were told we would loose our money already paid at 12 at night and that this was the only option. They couldnt speak very good english and a $200 insurance was still placed on my card after I told them not to.

it is very deceiving, first of all you already signed agreement where your money is not refundable, while they do not provide enough information for the customer to make inform decision; when you reach to the car rental location to pick up the car that is day and night history, in conclusion it is very deceitful. never again, I will go directly to the car rental location.

Fraud company please check their complaints online before referring them we never received the rental as they were forcing us to buy insurance and florida easy pass we told them we have insurance and our credit card also protects us and this is not first time we renting they were very rude and told us to leave so we had to catch cab in middle of night and messed up our vacation monetarily and fun wise

This place is doing false advertising on your site. They publish a super low rate to lock you in but when you show up there are a bunch of mandatory fees that more than double the price. You should not keep this company on your site.

When booking the rental car it was not clear that the rental car location was off the airport property. Also, we were required to pay for a toll activation fee of $20/day and had to purchase insurance for $30/day. These fees were not disclosed until we got to the desk. Also, there is only an hour pickup window, and we were hassled because our flight was delayed. There is a $500 security deposit. The additional fees charges at the time we picked up the car were an additional $350 on top of what we had already paid to reserve the car. Do not recommend booking with this company.

This is borderline not a real company. I am not a regular car renter and just pick from the top of the list on kayak for price. The ad said "in terminal" which was more appealing than taking the train and long shuttle. Not only was it not in the thermal, after getting to where all the normal major brands were located, there was no signs, no indicators of where to go. This caused some panic. I referent the booking receipt that was so vague it had just an address. I asked one of the floor brokers and he said he would call the guy and send someone to get me and to wait at a bus terminal. It was not marked or had any indicators of any kind. At that time I looked up reviews and it made me sick. Never more than a one star. I rebooked another common brand on the spot and wasn't going that route..

Samir provided an excellent customer service and made my experience pleasant and smooth. He deserves all praise and commendations. I think it’s time for Addcar to invest in a kiosk inside the terminal and provide this amazing experience to the other passenger that only pick up from rentals within the terminal.

It was an absolutely terrible experience. The person I dealt with when picking up was so rude and unprofessional. I was shocked at the additional expenses and how I felt forced into an insurance that seemed like a scam. There were multiple additional expenses that were not explained to me and the woman seemed to think I was foolish for asking for an explanation. I was so nervous about returning the vehicle that I cut my vacation short by an extra day just to get the vehicle back early in case they were difficult again to deal with. So I had to pay $150 for a hotel just to get the vehicle returned early. When I did go to the dropoff, there was another person having the exact same difficult time with staff. It was so wildly upsetting to watch this man struggling with this horrid customer service as well. I will never use this service again and I will attempt to warn others about this experience.

Staff were kind though they didn’t seem to have an information needed to answer questions related to insurance and cost. No shuttle service was available from the airport and no one was Available to answer the phone, other travelers helped us figure out how to get to the pick up location 3km from the airport. The $2000 hold/charge to our bank account was a huge surprise and it took over 2 hours to get the car at pick up due to them being understaffed and having a lot of confused costumers.
