Cons. The hotel was under construction on the first three lots so the elevator was down and you had to take the steps which were filthy. It looked like somebody vomited on one of the walls and it wasn’t cleaned up. Our room was one of the recently renovated ones but it smelled, there was paint splatter all over things in the room, the chair was all torn up...and the best part...woke up in the morning to take a shower and it didn’t work.
Pros. The location was convenient to downtown Washington DC, and the desk staff was very positive and cheerful.
Cons. The room was lightly cleaned, when it needed a complete scrub-down. There is mildew on the fire-sprinkler head, and the paint looks like a lowest-bidder job. The A/C unit sounded like an idling truck. I was given a room at check-in that had an unregistered guest in it -- maybe a "friend" of the housekeeping staff, since it's obvious their primary effort isn't cleaning rooms.
