The Rest Up London Hostel is known as one of the best and gauging from its outward appearance that would be easy to believe. The charming, brick front building with its terrace garden and wonderful location on the New Kent Road makes it an appealing spot. Just a short walk to Elephant & Castle tube station and 15 miles to Heathrow Airport, it is also just a mile from sites like the Tower of London, Parliament and Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. It is within the same area as the Imperial War Museum and London South Bank University, as well.
A pre-WWI baroque building, it is a historic property and has been a hostel for more than 100 years. It features such amenities as a shared TV room, a beautiful terrace with covered tables and fun bean bag chairs. It has an onsite coffee shop and snack bar, there is free Wi-Fi in the public areas, a ticketing and tour desk, baggage storage option, laundry services (for a fee) and even some business services. Visitors can enjoy traditional breakfast each morning, pizza at night and healthier fare in the restaurant. They also offer group menus.
The rooms include shared dorm rooms with options for four to a room or twenty beds in a dorm-style setting. The rooms are mixed gender, but there is a single four-bed female dorm. There are also twin and double rooms, and some even offer private baths at no cost.
If an affordable and high-quality accommodation is the goal, but also one in one of the best spots in London, it will be hard to beat what the Rest Up London Hostel makes available to travelers of all kinds.

Pros. Close to the tube station.
Cons. Room was the size of a walk in closet
Pros. Amenities, room options
Cons. Lots of Screaming young children
Pros. Lovely place within the city centre, everything available at your door steps
Cons. Lights can be on even at 2 am, there is noise the whole night.washrooms and toilets are quite limited for a huge number of guests.
Pros. Room was actually pretty clean, and restrooms were heavily used, but cleaned regularly. Staff was always very nice and helpful. Room was spartan, but comfortable.
Cons. Very noisy - lots of commotion outside our room. Also, for some reason, they decided to shut the bathroom near us for cleaning every morning from about 7:30 to 8:15 - right when lots of folks were wanting to shower. Finally, I had requested a private room for our family, but they told me that they didn't have any , so I had to pay extra money to get a whole 10 person room. Still a decent rate overall, compared to other places, but not the rate i thought I would pay. Finally, don't count on getting wi-fi any time between 7:00 and 10:30 at night. There are so many people trying to connect that it is pretty much impossible.
Pros. I liked that it was well located (less than 10 minutes walk to the Elephant & Castle tube station), St Pancras train station is 15 minutes away by tube and there are many buses around the hostel. You can also find a Spar and a Tesco Express supermarket as well as many kebabs next door if you want to grab something to eat. I stayed in a 4 beds dorm wich was clean and I had a nice view on the Shard. Toilets and shared showers were clean too.
Cons. Wifi was only available in sharing areas (only reception, " bar " and tv lounge). Also, the windows in the dorm were old and made of glass that was partially shattered so you could hear the traffic as if you were sleeping in the street. It can also be quite cold so I don't recommend staying there during fall or winter. Bed's matresses aren't confortable so I wouldn't recommend staying there for too long either. When it comes to eating in, there is a bar near the reception that sells £4 pizzas, sandwiches, coffee and many other things but it is only open from 12 to 19 and during these hours there wasn't anyone working at the bar so I couldn't get anything...
Pros. This is the second time I have ever stayed in a hostel...I can say with confidence that I will definately stay here again... $20 a night?! Who could say no! Also close to Elephant and Castle tube station too!!
Cons. I personally dont think it a good idea to have children (both male and female) sharing the same shower and toilet facilities as adults. I would strongly recommend having at least 1 floor dedicated to minors!
Pros. the staff was knowledgable on the transportation system, which is a big help. the location of the hostel was great...close to the tube station and there is a bus stop right in front of the hostel. the cafe in the hostel has good food for good price and value. i would probably stay there again.
Cons. the dryer was out of order. the bins can stack with garbage at times. the shower floors were wet most of the time.
Pros. Lively place and great atmosphere. I stayed in a twin bunk ensuite and was perfect for a little more privacy. Bus stop right outside the gates
Cons. Wifi only available in common room and entertainment room
