Pros. Extremely clean, great location, friendly and helpful staff
Cons. Breakfast is OK, the bed is hard as a rock.
Pros. Breakfast was AMAZING. The hotel was very clean. (No bedbugs-I checked) the man at the front who checked us in was beyond kind and very helpful. He showed us three rooms and let us choose. Omer chose the “captains room.” It was in the basement. My husband was iffy at first because it literally opened into the dining room, but it has two doors and we could not hear a thing. We knew going in that the hotel was over 200 years old which was part of the appeal. There was lots of character and charm but in a very clean environment. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. We were also very happy with the bottle of wine we got with the captains room!
Cons. These are not necessarily things we didn’t like persay just some things you should be aware of if you book this hotel. There is no lift. Because of the age and historic features, there’s no way to install one. The rooms are very small. If you’re a larger person or just used to lots of space, you’ll be uncomfortable. The size was fine for 2, just not lots of space. The bathroom in our room was VERY SMALL. Likened to a camper/RV bathroom size. The shower pressure and temperature was excellent, just a very small space. Not a problem for us, just something you should be aware of. The hallways are narrow and there was an “old” smell to the room. The age of this hotel was the appeal to us so this did not bother us. Overall we were so pleased with the quality especially for the money ($125USD/ night on hotels.com. We couldn’t get something with that much charm, that clean, in a good location, with a fabulous breakfast for anywhere close to that in he states. We were very happy. We will book again without hesitation.
Pros. Location. Room.
