Cons. Dated. Separate rooms (different building) from pool. Not described
Pros. The staff was super friendly. We arrived early with friends and asked about possibly upgrading both rooms to the main building and they gave us a great deal for 2 rooms close together. The breakfasts offered custom omelets plus the usual fixings and more. It was very good! The whole place was clean and friendly and we will certainly return!
Cons. This is not about the hotel per se, but it was a holiday weekends with lots of kids. We did complain about the kids on the 2nd floor running and stomping their feet well into the early hours of the morning. This is something the parents should have controlled. The Yankee Inn apologized and stated they did speak to the kids and parents multiple times, but got no results. To us on the first floor, it sounded like a herd of elephants above us. Either better behaved kids, or better expression to those staying above or put those with kids in the other building and adults only in the main building or more sound deadening material between the floors. This is our only complaint. Otherwise was an excellent stay.
Cons. Significantly overpriced for what it offered!
Pros. I liked the following : received text prior to check in telling me room was ready, staff very friendly and went out of way when they learned we ate at particular restaurant about the special relationship they have with them and suggested we could go back with hotel receipt for discount, rooms clean, comfortable beds with enough pillows, but mostly loved the family vibe you got from staff. You knew they cared.
Cons. Nothing bad to say
Pros. Perfect for a one or two night stay. The room ammenities in the adjacent building to the main Inn are small and older yet the rooms were clean. The hot tub and indoor pool were well kept and appreciated prior to my half marathon race in Tanglewood. The staff was accomodating however they neglected to provide me with a requested wake up call. The complimentary coffee and tea was a nice touch and the gal tending bar could not have been nicer or more insightful.

The easiest and quickest way to get from the airport to your accommodation is by car. If you are looking at getting a cab, the trip will take around 1h 15min with a one-way taxi fare of around $150. It is also possible to use public transport; however, it is only advised if your plane lands during the day, as some of the services are limited at nighttime. The easiest way is to board bus line 737 from the airport heading to Downtown Albany and get off at the Madison Ave & Green Street bus stop about 50min later. Walk over to the Albany Bus Terminal, which will be a 3min walk away, and board the Peter Pan bus line heading towards Providence. It will go non-stop to the Intermodal Transport Center in about 1h. From there, catch bus line 2 going in the direction of Lee Premium Outlets, get off 2 stops later at the Price Chopper bus stop, and the inn will be a 5min walk away.
Accessible rooms at the inn are all equipped with King Beds and have a balcony or a patio. While most of these rooms have accessible bathtubs in the bathroom, only one has a roll-in shower that is wheelchair accessible. If this is a necessary feature, you must request it at the time of booking.
The inn is a great choice for groups and large family trips with its 7 different guestroom configurations and the availability of both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces with catering options. If you are thinking of organizing a bus for your vacation, the inn has large parking spots that can accommodate tour buses and the hotel staff can help you organize group activities for your stay.
If you will be getting to the inn early on arrival day, you can request an early check-in upon arrival and the staff will be happy to accommodate you at no extra charge if it is ready. If you are hoping to sleep in on departure day, you will need to call the front desk on departure day to request a late check-out. If the room is available, you will be able to stay for an extra hour or two.
Breakfast at the inn is continental and you will find a selection of bagels and bread, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruits and juices. In addition to the usual continental fare, you will be able to order eggs made to order from the omelette bar, and you will be able to make your own waffles.
