Cons:I prepaid for my rental. Hertz called 1.5days before I’m scheduled to land in my destination city to say they are overbooked. They don’t have any cars, of any class/level, at any of their locations in the Phoenix area. This leaves me without a car, and scrambling to find a different rental (which they did not help with) at a much higher price point due to how last minute it was (which they did not cover). AND EVEN WORSE to receive my refund for the rental car that I prepaid for but never received I had to call a 1-800 Hertz number which put me on hold for an hour!!! Worst experience ever, will not be booking with Hertz again. Both the rental branch I talked with and customer service were poor, and not helpful. What logic is it to have to call a different number for a refund for a mistake Hertz made.
Pros:Staff was friendly and very accommodating, even with several changes as I worked through the process of a short notice trip.

Pros:Completely unhelpful. I will never use Hertz again. If you can use Enterprise will definitely take care of you.
Cons:They called the day before my trip to tell me they didn't have a car available even though I had already paid a week prior. When I call Hertz back (I was in a doctor's appointment when they called and didn't have time to talk) customer service said my reservation was good to go. I flew into town and called customer service again to verify before I took a Lyft to them, and was again told my reservation was good to go. Took the Lyft got there and was told they didn't have a car. I asked why they didn't cancel my reservation, I was told that's not their job and that I had been notified (which was true) that they didn't have a car for me. They didn't try to find me a car, help me out at all or even seem to even care that I was stranded. Called customer service told them I needed a refund ASAP since they had screwed me. 7-10 days to get my money back was what I was told. Very disappointed. Had to take a Lyft to Enterprise down the street, they didn't have a car there but had one brought from another location in about 50 minutes.

Cons:I booked a car though Kayak, the provider was supposed to be hertz. When I booked it, it said there was a shuttle to take me to car rental facility. When I arrived at hertz they said I was at wrong hertz and the one I wanted was closed.
It was clear in my search that I wanted to pick up at the Phoenix airport. Evidently it was very unclear that kayak booked a car through Hertz at a location 20 minutes away from the airport. This caused all kinds of problems for the trip.
Pros:Even though I specifically entered Phoenix Airport as pick up/drop off location and 11 PM as the pick up time, Kayak arbitrarily changed those variables and “highly recommended” an option for $215 at a location 30 min drive from the airport and one that closes at 3PM. After leaving 2 young children with my wife at the airport at midnight and catching a taxi to the pick up location, we found out the location had been closed for hours. This was a disaster. I ended up essentially losing my money because we never got to pick up the car.
Cons:Do NOT change parameters of time and location that the customer enters. If I have to constantly watch my back and check to see how Kayak is sabotaging my reservations, the wasted energy is not worth just directly dealing with key service providers. Disappointed.
Pros:Nothing. They sucked. Got there from from Denver flight to pick up my rental van with a big group of people and all of our luggage and we ended being turned away because they closed at 5:30pm. First of all what car rental closes at 5:30 especially on a busy weekend. Second, it said on google that they close at 6pm so even when our plane was delayed we arrived at 5:40 at the car rental place. Which was still plenty of time to get our rental. But apparently their hours on google is not updated. Lady that was working there at the time also had an attitude and was very rude. Never going there again to get a rental.
Cons:Everything. There was no good service provided at all.
