Nice ride, comfortable and easy.

Confusion between French side and Swiss side; originally got told to go through Swiss part regardless but they had no record of the res even. Car smelled ferociously like cat pee. Various numbers were zero help; could only call French hertz roadside and was never able to complete the call.

they did not have enough people at the counter checking people in, and when we returned the car there was no one there and we had no idea where to leave the keys

All good - having never rented a car in Europe I chose Hertz over the other options as am a Gold member and have used Hertz for many years. The pickup/dropoff processes were seamless and the staff went above and beyond helping with an infant car seat.

Pick up was easy tho they really pushed additional insurance that I had already purchased. Car was nice a BMW X1. They didn’t advise on how the GPS worked. Tried to Nav and worked intermittently and even home changed language it was still hit or miss on what we would hear if it worked.

The rate on kayak is deceiving. For Mexico rentals kayak should strive to take into account their special convoluted insurance rules and huge deposit rules.
