The room I booked for 2 queen beds was not honored. Plus there was a wedding reception with loud love music blaring right below my room. Therefore, I did not stay the one nightvI had booked. I had to check out and an still waiting for my refund from the 3rd party reservation. Very unhappy.
Pros. This was THE most friendly, helpful, outgoing group of staff I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with at any hotel, at any price range. Not the fake smiles or overly helpful kind that leaves you feeling a little annoyed, but sincerely ready to help or just talk. Location is excellent in terms of walking around Golden’s restaurants, shops, or over to the School of Mines. Parking is right besides the hotel and free, which is extremely hard to find in Golden. The room was comfortable for two of us in the room, with sufficient space to move around the two queen beds and not feel cramped. Pricing, as with everything in Colorado, seems to be at the upper limit of what’s reasonable, but given that fact it was “Colorado reasonable”.
Cons. While the service was quick, friendly and the facility clean, the food at the hotel restaurant was below average in flavor. Looked good, tasted bland. All quite expensive, as with basically everything in the state.
Pros. Right in the middle of Golden. Great price. Clean
Cons. We were on the west side and the view of the air conditioners and alley were not the best, but there could be worse things to complain about.
Pros. Location is unbeatable, nice breakfast, great dinner, parking garage
Cons. Room / bathroom dirty, outdated, saggy mattress covered w/ a piece of memory foam
Pros. Great location in the heart of Golden. Lots of dining areas with distinct vibes.
Pros. The room was great. Easy access to downtown Golden. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
Cons. The staff person who checked me in seemed uninterested in helping me with a room. It seemed I was wasting his time when I inquired about room availability.
Pros. King size bed with lots of pillows, balcony with table and chairs, quiet, loved the all the amenities. Complementary coffee and water was great. Loved the shampoo and lotion. Great place to stay. Nice hotel with old time feel, but modern rooms.
Cons. Side door entrance would not lock after entering, allowing anyone to enter without a card key.
