My experience with Avis was horrible. There was a deposit policy that wasn’t clearly stated and the money couldn’t be split between 2 credit cards. They didn’t accept cash or debit cards, making my reservation obsolete. When I asked the clerk if there was anything I could do, he seemed to take a little pleasure in telling me there was nothing he could do. Instead of being stranded in Nashville with an Avis reservation I couldn’t redeem, I went across to Enterprise and rented a nice vehicle through them with no deposit on the spot. I would never rent through Avis because there are too many strict rental restrictions that make a recreational traveler inconvenienced.

I did not like that they held $750 on my credit card for a car that I only rented for 1 day. After returning the car, 3 days later, I am still waiting for the money to be returned to my credit card. What if that was all the money I had for my trip and was depending on it?

The amount of the vehicle return fee could have been disclosed before finalizing the car rental.

It was hard to find the store cause nobody knew where it was inside the airport of Brasilia, luckily I saw a small label with the logo on the Unida rental car store. So even if I reserved with AVIS I ended up dealing with UNIDAS that collaborates with AVIS
