FAQs - booking Denmark flights

  • Where should I fly to in Denmark if I want to explore Europe as well?

Located in southeastern Denmark, the city of Sonderborg is less than a 2h drive from Germany. The best deals on flights from LAX to the Sonderborg Airport (SGD) are often on several airlines making more than one stop, such as a ticket for a Norse Atlantic flight that leaves LAX and changes to a Scandinavian Airlines flight in Berlin, and then to an Alsie Express flight in Copenhagen.

  • Where can I fly to in Denmark that's centrally located?

The town of Billund is in central Denmark, which is roughly the center of the Jutland Peninsula. Flights on Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, and Delta tend to have one stop in Paris or Amsterdam. Two-stop flights on United, Lufthansa, and Air Canada often stop in San Francisco, Munich, Frankfurt, or New York.

  • What is the Copenhagen Airport like?

CPH has two terminals, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. All flights arrive at T3. There is a hotel connected to the airport, Day Use rooms, and executive lounges you can access by paying at the door. Family services include family restrooms, diaper-changing rooms, and nursing rooms. Among the shops and restaurants, you can find a spa. The Car Rental Center can be reached by an inter-terminal bus.

  • Where is the USO at LAX?

The Bob Hope Hollywood USO is not inside LAX, but across the street between Terminal 1 and 2. Active-duty US military personnel, US military retirees, and military families can enjoy the benefits of the USO free of charge. Some amenities include an internet cafe, a Disney family room, a comfortable TV lounge with a library full of movies, showers, a nap room, an outdoor patio, and much more.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Los Angeles to Denmark?

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Denmark

  • Morning departure is around 35% cheaper than an evening flight, on average*.
  • The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is just south of Los Angeles on the coast of the Pacific and serves Los Angeles County. Designed in the shape of a U, LAX has 9 terminals, including the Tom Bradley International Terminal. LAX is as a hub for American Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Delta.
  • If you want to rent a car to explore Scandinavia, consider flying from LAX to the Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH) in Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen. Located on the eastern edge of Denmark, Copenhagen is connected to Sweden by bridge, so Copenhagen makes a good starting point if you're going to rent a car and explore Scandinavia.
  • If you are traveling with children and you want them to exhaust themselves at LAX before your long cross-country and trans-Atlantic flight, take them to the indoor playground in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, located between terminals 4 and 5 at the apex of the airport’s U-shape.
  • The Danish city Aarhus is on the eastern coast of the Jutland peninsula, Denmark's largest land mass. From ancient Viking relics to world-renowned contemporary art, Aarhus has it all. The most affordable flights from LAX to the Aarhus Airport (AAR) tend to be on flights with two stops or more, such as an Air Canada flight with stops in Toronto and Copenhagen.
  • In order to fly to Denmark, you will need a valid passport and it is recommended that your passport remains valid for 6 months after your proposed date of departure from Denmark. You need one blank page in your passport per stamp. No visa is required for a stay in Denmark that lasts for under 90 days.

I didn’t not like that I could not select my seat and ended up with the worse seat.

Great, on time departure, friendly and accommodating crew, great leg room, Smith flight

Honestly, I didn’t expect that I will experience this long time wait during the check in. There was only one person who was taking care of the passengers for the economy class and it took us to wait about one hour to do our check i. As a result we barely get to the airplane as the gate was at the end of the airport. That is totally not professional where one crue is working at the registration desk with economy and 3-4 crues are helping for the business class.

I guess they don’t serve drinks on planes anymore

Delta planes have the WORST seat comfort of any plane in history. It's the opposite of ergonomic, in every sense. They also recline minimally, are covered in a vinyl and have no feet rests. Then the disembarking process is chaotic and time consuming (because of the way they load the plane and deal with luggage). Overall, somewhat frustrating but we arrived safely :)

It was a very smooth ride. Not sure on a flight departing at midnight can be much better but it was late arriving and I had an early day so really just the logistics.

Really liked the choice of the 4 free snack options. Crew great. Good vibe on plane.

Very disappointed in the food selection. It was not good compared to other airlines.

Good breakfast granola bar good crew seamless flight and baggage transfer we’ll done!

Everything was great but the difference in paying for comfort + did not seem worth it.

flight attendant spilled juice on me entertainment was limited i wanted to upgrade but $$$ was exorbitant i purchased $69 seat, only to find out day of flight/purchase never went through & I was "assigned" a terrible seat! ( btw another passenger complained of the same thing happening to her)

3 Flights were late, 1 on time. When you have connections you have to run thru the airport because there is not much time. When asked the flight attendant if they could let us out first because we were 30 minutes late she said it's a small airport, don't worry. That seemed to be the standard line. Other airlines are much more helpful. Our special meals were on our flight going from Boston to Copenhagen, They did not have them for the return even though we had put in for it.

SAS is the representation of the Scandinavian minimalism, which I like. I wished they had a more relaxed policy on free water distribution beyond one bottle (500 ml) per person and two drinks, including water, per overseas flight.

TERRIBLE! Staff was unfriendly, rude, and demeaning. One flight attendant touched me to grab the complimentary blanket off my neck because I couldn't take it home, while a bunch of other people took theirs home. I have never been so ill treated. I am not happy at all. And flight was delayed, no information until short notice for everything. Lost an entire day at my destination. I expect a full refund for that experience. Never will fly with them EVER again

All was good. I think the back of the plane should be boarded first. It would be faster. Minimal waiting time behind passengers loading their carry on baggage.

My return flight has been changed to JFK from EWR without any notice or reason

I had economy plus and it’s definitely worth the price. The seats are so comfortable, so much space, great large TV screens, and you get fed often. Really decent food (although other fish was overcooked.) They do need better movie choices. The crew is the best. Super friendly and accommodating. So much better than most American run Airlines.

Flight was delayed 3 hours. Pilot cancelled flight under 4 people volunteered to change their seats to economy from business class.

I couldn’t make it to the airport for my original flight due to bad weather; roads were shut down, buses and trains were closed. Since the plane wasn’t cancelled, I still had to pay $720 to change my ticket.

Last minute cancelation, though a substitute flight was found I could not pick my meal or seat. The hotel offered didn't have working air control or shower.

No meal. Flight crew was wonderful, happily finding me storage for my guitar. THANK YOU!!!

Flight was delayed for almost 3 hours. Communication of gate change was poor. Email and screen said one gate and it was a different gate from that. Gate changed first to 64 B and then to 64 C. Originally it was 68B. 64C was not communicated properly!

Plenty of room in the exit row. Sat on the plane an hour before taking off.☹️ Landed late and had to wait for gate availability.

Flight was on time early arrival better entertainment good staff.everything was excellent

They canceled the flight on us very close to the flight date .

My experience was pretty frustrating because the first leg of my flight on United (though booked through Air Canada) was delayed causing me to miss my connecting flight on Air Canada. This could have been an easy solve as there was a direct flight later that morning via Air Canada that they easily could have put me on which would have only gotten me to my destination 2 1/2 hours later but because United and Air Canada don’t seem to have good communication they gave me the run around both telling me to talk with the other which I did three times to no avail. I ended up taking the delayed flight and getting on a new connecting flight which ended up getting me to my destination 6 hours later and I missed the event I was planning to go to this evening.

Everything went smoothly and as expected. We were on time and one flight arrived early.

This is not a Business Class equipped airplane and even the crew apologize before take over BUT BUT Air Canada charged full business class fare

Very good other than we have to wait for one crew and we’re delayed and the pilot and his co- pilot has to make a difference to be right on time arrival. Disappointed about no food service also.

Due to a strike taking place with the airline, it negatively impacted my flight in multiple ways. My flight was delayed over 2 hours and the food served was mediocre at best.

Poor, we had 1 hour to grab our checked luggage, go through customs, recheck bags and run across terminals to make our United flight. Poorly planned connections.

Staff didn’t care in business class. Closed the door on my mom while she was on the jetbridge and flight attendant told me she would make it from the connecting flight. They lied. My luggage was damaged on arrival. No success in filing damage claim.

Overall, the flight was comfortable without any serious issues. Transit through Frankfurt airport was a little confusing, but not too difficult if you follow the signs

Staff disappeared after dinner service until breakfast, no help with beds, no help running to our gate to catch connection cause flight was late, our luggage didn’t make it, took over 24 hours to get luggage to hotel, no compensation!!

Second time I took this flight, and they lost my luggage both times. Waiting for my suitcase now, last time it took two days to get it back.

Checked in is easy and it was a smooth flight from LAX to Munich

It was a busy flight and all the crew were very helpful and gracious

I wish the flight attendant was a little bit kinder

I always try to book flights that don’t charge for baggage. Yet I was charged $75 for this flight.

Used to love Lufthansa, but Rowe are too close together in Economy and passengers are allowed to recline their seats so far back it is impossible for those behind them to even reach for carry-on essentials during flight - except for meal service when flight attendants ask for seat backs to be raised, we can’t sleep on planes so this flight was most uncomfortable ever! Rod Rose

Economy class has no legroom so if you have the money worth to upgrade! Food was absolutely horrible! The crew was super nice!!!!!

The flight was provided by Aer Lingus and our seats were in a poor condition (15A & 15C). They looked like they needed repairing/replacing and were uncomfortable for such a long flight. Also the arm rests on Aer Lingus planes do not lift more than around 45 degrees, instead of the usual 90 degrees upright, meaning you cannot maximum the space between you & your travel companion so as to be more comfortable for such a long flight.

Flights were actually with Aer Lingus outward and American Airlines & Aer Lingus on the return journey. Outward flight with Aer Lingus was good but the return flight with them was not so good as our seats were in a poor condition (15A & 15C) and looked like they needed replacing! The American Airlines flight from Miami to JFK New York was good and the seats were very comfortable and spacious (32D & 32E)

Awful. Delay, lost vacation time and travel time now more than 24h

Awful. Flight delayed and we missed our long flight to Rome. It has been a nightmare and we have still not arrived. It was NOT a weather delay, just poor planning by AA

Boarding was as fast and efficient as possible. The flight crew were amazing and extremely friendly. We enjoyed our flight.

Very bed boarding, there was overbooked and make a lot of problems and noises

There was a problem in the luggage because there were not porters

On my way from Chicago to London, I was seated next to a quite heavy passenger. I could barely move. BA should have ensured that overweight customers are placed in comfortable seats and not to penalize also other passengers because BA is not willing to accommodate these passengers and their needs. No respect at all.

The flight as far as timings go was excellent. Unfortunately we ended up sat with someone on a night flight who had been drinking alcohol before boarding and BA staff were happily serving him more alcohol. He was very drunk which made our flight uncomfortable and awkward. My partner had this person lying on him whilst asleep. Alcohol should be served minimally. If there had been an emergency this person would not have been in a fit state to act accordingly.
