The location where I made the reservation didn't have any cars available and had been waiting all afternoon for the distribution center to send over more cars. Four of us in the lobby were stuck. Luckily, another woman asked them to check a different location about 15 minutes away. The associate did, and they had cars. The associate asked if we'd be willing to go to that location and since I had been dropped off, I didn't have transportation. Thankfully, the woman who'd asked was a real Good Samaritan and offered me a lift. When I got to the other place, they didn't have the car I reserved (an intermediate) and I had to take a compact, which I didn't enjoy, but I took anyway because I was under a time crunch. This other location did their best but they seemed overwhelmed with all of us coming over. The first Avis center was all very disorganized. How is it they accepted reservations without available cars? Why didn't I get a call ahead of time if there were no cars, so I could make other arrangements? It was a mess.

No signs instructing you where to drop off vehicle. It was a one way rental so I didn't pick it up there. It was inconvenient because she made me go back to mall parking to pull car up to front door which was difficult to find

The second car they gave me was fully functional

Cons:

The first car was broken, vibrated/shock-likely something wrong with the tires. The second car they gave was filthy, the trunk had bananas, grocery bags, wrapping paper, old masks. There were chips by the driver’s seat. Both car were clearly never cleaned when I rented them for their enhanced cleaning during covid. Very disappointed with the whole experience

there was only one person working during a time when the internet was down. It took me a total of two hours to do a simple one day rental. There should have been no less that four people working during this trying time. The car that was rented to me was filthy. It smelled like sweat and cigarettes. I could not wait to get out of it. It was the most disgusting car I have ever been in. It shook over 65 MPH. It was Nissan Rogue

A bit pricey for the car that was given to me. And I did not like that I was not able to go through the drop of inspection with the person who inspects the car. If I have any extra charges because of that I will be very upset and dispute them because the car was returned in the same conditions I received it in.

Location was short on vehicles. Employees were working hard to keep wait to a minimum, even giving free upgrades if category reserved wasn't available. Shuttle bus driver was exceptional also - loading all bags so customers could get to the counter quickly and safely. SUV was in great shape with fewer miles than I've seen in rental cars since the pandemic. Excellent overall experience!

Alamo, National and Enterprise (all owned by the same parent company) are the farthest walk from the terminal in Athens. Reserved a sedan so that we would have a trunk for our luggage. Tried to offer me a Jeep which doesn't have a trunk and wouldn't work as my wife had broken her ankle 2 days before and couldn't have gotten up into it. Car had multiple areas of scrapes and dents, which isn't unusual for Greece but the interior was fine and it ran well. Was not happy that they gave me a car with a half tank of gas which makes it difficult to know how much to add to get it back to a half tank when you're not used to filling it and you can't do self-serve in Greece. Staff was fine to deal with though took a long time with the one customer in front of me in line.

Acceptable. We didnt inspect the vehicle together and sign it off before leaving from pick up which was a bit of a worry. Car interior a little worn/tired but clean. No sixt branded car hire stickers/signage? I selected wrong airport for pick up. Additional charge was a bit high in my opinion but understandable

After 30 minutes of waiting in line they refused to rent me a car because I could not prove that I live in Canada - the country where I received my drivers license. I have no Idea why I have to prove that, Ideally valid documents should be enough, but the result is disappointing: I did not get a car, the company did not receive my money.

The pick up method in Florence is horrible, I also asked the drop off to be in Rome and I didn’t notice they put Genoa so I had to pay an extra $100 in fee for when I dropped it off to the location I had originally asked for.

They did not have the SUV I reserved, and insisted I take a pick up truck or a mid-sized sedan! THey took no responsiblity for this error... Also, the deposit for self CDW insurance (over US20K in deposit) was just too unreasonable. Staff not friendly.

These guys are the worst. Watch out for all kinds of hidden charges and if anyone tells you anything about your rental, make sure you get it in writing. These guys are supreme scam artists. Don’t get suckered like I did.

I was told I HAVE to get the premium insurance otherwise my deposit would be $26,000!!The receptionist kept on showing us in Spanish, I asked to have it shown in English, she did. And I was able to select no insurance, but it needed managers passcode. So I clicked back, and selected the lowest coverage and it was allowing me to choose how much deposit, $5000! At the return, they charged me $0.01 to release my deposit, which still has not been release. The car itself was comfortable, the people on the other hand, I feel they are shady.

Title: Disappointing Experience at Ace Wilkinson Blvd If you’re considering renting from here, be aware of the following issues: Limited Mileage: When booking online with the unlimited mileage option, there are restrictions on which states you can drive to. At this location, unlimited miles are limited to only the Carolinas and Virginia. If you plan to travel to Georgia or other states, additional fees apply. I’m aware that other rental agencies (not all) also do this but still… don’t call it unlimited if it’s not unlimited. Hidden Fees: Upon pickup, I also encountered several unexpected charges. For example, despite not using airport services, an airport concierge fee was added to the charges. When questioned, the local office couldn’t provide a satisfactory explanation for this particular fee, so I did not bother to follow-up with questions for several of the other fees that also seemed like padding, these fees increased my total bill to more than 1/3 of the original booking price. Defective Vehicle: This was the most concerning issue. What happened? I booked a full-size sedan, while doing the walk around inspection, I noticed that one of the front bumper clips was missing, causing the end section of the bumper to hang loose enough that the wind could cause further damage while driving. When I brought this to the rep's attention, he acted like this was not a cause for concern. I had to insist that this was unacceptable and that I could not take responsibility for a defective vehicle. He then tried to replace the vehicle with a smaller vehicle type. The issue here is that he wanted to charge me the same rate for a smaller car and insisted that this was the only vehicle he had available. I felt that it was unfair to charge at the same rate, so I ended up cancelling and had to make other plans. So no, I would not recommend.

I would rent from Fox again but I’d be way more likely to rent from Fox if there was a way to use their car for toll roads on only the days when you’re planning to use it on those roads instead of paying for toll usage for the entire duration of the trip. Having to pay for the entire duration even though I only wanted to use tolls for one day meant that the cost was much higher and the value not really that great.

They reserve 1 car online to get you to their location which is a way away from other car rentals. Then they will not have the car you reserved and charge you a higher price for what you do end up getting

Unfortunately they apparently don't accept credit card insurance (perhaps it was in fine print somewhere, but I didn't see anything during booking) so I was forced to pay for their very expensive insurance. This raised my costs from $40 to over $200 for 3 days. Even if it WAS technically my mistake, this imbalance in costs feels intentional on their part and like a slightly dishonest way to do business.

It may be wise to not allow this company to transact on kayak as their business practices are questionable at best. Issue: 1. Unexplained transportation, till you arrive in LAX, that consists of a lengthy bus ride and shuttle to arrive at the car rental location. 2. This business does not inform and does not allow its customers to use the coverage on a credit card for insurance. 3. This business does not accept the kayak insurance that is advertised as a way to save time and money, 4. Does not accept private insurance and says the deductibles are not high enough. 5. These practices leave a customer with the only option to accept and pay a higher rate than the kayak car insurance. 6. Thankfully, while attempting to understand the reasons why this information was not shared and while attempting to remedy these issues, a gentleman entered the building saying he just experienced a tire blowout, had to change the tire on his own as they would not respond to his calls and wanted another car to which they initially responded they he would have to pay for the new tire and another rental - deplorable. Please stop predatory companies such as Economy Rent a Car from operating on your website. At a minimum, I am requesting a full refund for this reservation that was not used.

Price was low for a reason. Service was terrible. After long check in process I wait for my car only to see it has no gas. And it's scratched and dented all over. And then after I check out I realize they added some fees that were not clearly told to me... I called and they said it was a prepaid fuel tax of 20% which was never told to me. Complete nonsense.

Shuttle from SD airport to main car park garage. Then NU picks up but not until after 8am. We arrived 7:30 and waited in cold on outside bench. Upon off site arrival one clerk to handle 3-4 customer groups. He was courteous but none of our cars were prepped for drive off. We waited 40+ minutes to get out, which was a lesser model than advertised. (Nissan Sentra vs Altima)

I didn’t like a thing. They were in an inconvenient location. They took an hour to check me in and then the car wasn’t ready so waited another half hour just to be told the car hatch was broken. Then they proceeded to give me a filthy car with the most foul smell inside. Inside was disgusting with stains and ripped carpet. So very disappointed and would NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone!!!

I rented the car via kayak with NU car, but they walked me over to dollar, then when I dropped it off at nu car at 3am in the morning, they said they couldn’t process me because I rented the car from dollar, still have yet to receive an email receipt, not happy at all about the overall experience.

Surprise. No return flight changes everything. It’s a 10 min shuttle away from airport and all other rental car companies. Run down location. Limited seating. Slow and busy. They ran out of cars for the number of people there. Just so many issues.

Got a really crappy car that didn’t unlock on the driver side. Also they didn’t give us our drivers license back and we’ve tried several times after being on hold for a half hour we called four times and they just put us to the Tampa office and there’s no place to leave a message or talk to a live person in the office Terrible terrible.

The rental location is terrible. It's a small office on a shady strip. The cars are on the roof of adjacent parking deck. The Guys who work there are really nice but the car was shady. It had no window fluid, it was a screech every time you turn. The back seat headrest didn't work. The list goes on... Just pay the extra money and go to a reputable place. This place is below low budget. Never again!

In the site it was mentioned that it is an unlimited mileage but when I went in person, they told me it is limited to 120 kms. On top of it they were asking for $1400 deposit!!!! I arrived, and they had the wrong car. They had an SUV-type 7-seater, but I booked a people carrier van. They didn't have any available, so I had to wait 90 minutes with 3 children for the car to be ready. They claimed the issue with the booking was with Kayak/Expedia, and they made me pay the difference in upgrading the car. I showed them the booking confirmation and the picture of the van/people carrier with 9 seats, but they still made me pay. I was so tired and knew I needed the van that I had to pay to get out of the place. The manager was helpful, and the people were lovely. But I find all car rental places to be borderline crooks. This just confirmed it again for me. There are ridiculous add-ons for mileage, car seats for kids (a legal requirement), insurance, and excess. The list goes on.

When I went to pickup my car, I had to wait ~1 hour to speak with someone at the desk. The agent I spoke to at the desk lied to me and said that I cannot use my personal auto insurance and had to use their plan. I call their corporate number later and the confirmed that agent was incorrect and refunded my money spent on the insurance. The car they had reserved for me was stuck behind several cars on the lot and inaccessible. Because of this they tried to give me another vehicle in the same class. The replacement they picked had visible damage/dent to the multiple panels, doors, and bumper. I started documenting all the damage in detail and taking pictures, the agent started getting visibly annoyed. He ended up providing me with a different car in the end. When I came time to drop off the vehicle, the lot nearly full and there was a line extending into the street just to enter the lot. I'm still waiting to deposit to be returned and I anticipating that I will need to call their corporate office again. This was an extremely poor experience through and through. I will never rent from Mexrentacar ever again, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.

We booked a car for $140 for 6 days. I checked several times to make sure the car rental was at the airport, not with a shuttle. When we arrived, and finally found an attendant for U-Save amongst the crowd when you exit SJD (Cabo) airport, he indicated we would take a shuttle to the car rental office. We still waited 5-10 minutes for the shuttle. When we finally arrived, they said there were mandatory insurance fees of nearly $60/day, which would bring my total closer to $500–that’s more than triple the price I had reserved with. That was supposed to be the total cost. After much back and forth, they said there’s nothing they could do and that this 3rd party insurance is required in Mexico. We were almost going to agree, about to start the paperwork, then they said they would have to charge $1500 as a deposit for incidentals. This was NOT a hold, this was going to be a charge that they would refund. I’ve rented cars before and I understand a deposit for incidentals. But this amount seemed outrageously high, especially in light of the forced insurance. We decided to skip the car rental altogether and just used taxis/Uber to get around. It cost us much much less, and definitely less headache. I would never ever book with U-Save ever again. And generally be wary of renting a car in Cabo for that matter, as they just try to impose additional costs and triple the anticipated cost.

1200 dollars charged for a chip in the windshield, is a racket, I doubt they will be repairing the chip or replacing the windshield like they said they had to. It took awhile for the shuttle bus to get to the airport for pickup. My insurance provides coverage for rental cars. Unknown to me, they require a copy of my insurance policy to 'verify' that I have that coverage, or else I have to buy their insurance coverage. My flight was delayed and I got to their facility about 8pm. She said I was supposed to have picked up my car by noon and would 'have to see if they still have a car available and if they could verify that my original rental fees were still available". They decided to let me have the car. It is dark outside and they have the black vehicle out in a dark area where I am supposed to inspect it for any damage. I brought the card back in to her where I marked that I didn't see any obvious damage, but trying to see any surface scratches or scrubs was impossible. She said, 'you didn't write the mileage down''. I said the rental agency normally does that. I went back out and got the mileage. At this point I was frustrated and really needed to get on the road as I had a 1.5 hour drive to get where I had to go and be up for a very early meeting. I have never gotten a rental that didn't have a full tank of gas, EVER. About 10 minutes down the road it started to rain and I was trying to figure out the wipers. I then noticed it only had a 1/2 tank of gas!! When I got back I mentioned this to the lady behind the counter. She said it was my problem because I was supposed to inspect the car before taking it. Lesson learned when dealing with Surprice!!

If you do not arrive within 1-2 hours of your reservation time, they give your car away and don't have backups for you! EVERYONE in that arrived on my shuttle were in the same boat; they didn't have any of our vehicles; they were simply telling everyone that their reservation is cancelled, we'll receive our money back (eventually), and we just need to go elsewhere to find a car last minute, at night. IT WAS A DISASTER! Thank God one of the guys working there took pity on my group since I had my 80 year old parents with me, and managed to find another vehicle for us. It was smaller than what we rented, but at least it was a vehicle. I'm thankful to the employee who bent over backwards to find us a vehicle, but York's policy of re-renting everyone's cars if they are not there within 1-2 hours is CRAZY! Everyone else got screwed. It was an awful experience. Oh, it it took HOURS for all of that to get settled. 0/5 stars.

Rented a 12 passenger van for a college trip with students to study marine biology in southern Florida for 3 weeks. Reservation and rental agreement indicated $889 as total price, $500 (approx) downpayment was made at reservation. Upon arrival, they charged me $1,500 and said there is some required insurance although my University pays for full insurance on all fleet rentals. I do not see this in the details on expedia. The van was in poor condition - dent in the back with cracked bumper from a prior accident. One seat was literally zip-tied on. Two seats did not have seat belts so effectively serves as a 10 passenger vehicle. The zip-tied seat and missing seat belts would be against the law so I have reported this to Florida's Attorney General office for investigation.

Overall very good experience, great value, only negatives were they tried to soft upsell the car and coverage but weren’t forceful when I declined. When booking the rental car it was not clear that the rental car location was off the airport property. Also, we were required to pay for a toll activation fee of $20/day and had to purchase insurance for $30/day. These fees were not disclosed until we got to the desk. Also, there is only an hour pickup window, and we were hassled because our flight was delayed. There is a $500 security deposit. The additional fees charges at the time we picked up the car were an additional $350 on top of what we had already paid to reserve the car. Do not recommend booking with this company.

This is borderline not a real company. I am not a regular car renter and just pick from the top of the list on kayak for price. The ad said "in terminal" which was more appealing than taking the train and long shuttle. Not only was it not in the thermal, after getting to where all the normal major brands were located, there was no signs, no indicators of where to go. This caused some panic. I referent the booking receipt that was so vague it had just an address. I asked one of the floor brokers and he said he would call the guy and send someone to get me and to wait at a bus terminal. It was not marked or had any indicators of any kind. At that time I looked up reviews and it made me sick. Never more than a one star. I rebooked another common brand on the spot and wasn't going that route..

It was an absolutely terrible experience. The person I dealt with when picking up was so rude and unprofessional. I was shocked at the additional expenses and how I felt forced into an insurance that seemed like a scam. There were multiple additional expenses that were not explained to me and the woman seemed to think I was foolish for asking for an explanation. I was so nervous about returning the vehicle that I cut my vacation short by an extra day just to get the vehicle back early in case they were difficult again to deal with. So I had to pay $150 for a hotel just to get the vehicle returned early. When I did go to the dropoff, there was another person having the exact same difficult time with staff. It was so wildly upsetting to watch this man struggling with this horrid customer service as well. I will never use this service again and I will attempt to warn others about this experience.

Staff were kind though they didn’t seem to have an information needed to answer questions related to insurance and cost. No shuttle service was available from the airport and no one was Available to answer the phone, other travelers helped us figure out how to get to the pick up location 3km from the airport. The $2000 hold/charge to our bank account was a huge surprise and it took over 2 hours to get the car at pick up due to them being understaffed and having a lot of confused costumers.
