Person at pick up is unethical and takes advantage of people with up charges. I was a little early and he claimed that he didn’t have a mid size car and that I had to pay for an upgrade. Bill was 150 more than what I signed up for and when I got to the pickup area it was a Hundai Elantra - a mid size car. These people are cheats and manipulators. Don’t rent from them!

The rental pickup process was long (we had to wait for over an hour) and then the vehicle I received was a shitbox. It was unclean on the inside, and had dents and scratches on it all over outside. When I drove it, the power windows kept having issues, and the engine/transmission sounding like it could give out at any moment. It did not feel safe. I didn’t complain at the time of pickup because we had waited so long and I figured for approximately $25 a day, what I should have expected… but then they charged me twice. I’m also currently in the process of finding out why this cost me nearly $300 for 6 days, instead of the $170 that I paid in advance through Kayak. I probably won’t ever rent from this company or its Honolulu location ever again.

A whole busload of ppl arrived on their shuttle together late in the evening from flights across Canada. Many flights were from 1 to 3 hours late. I watched them tell one after another that they have no reservation, it was cancelled because they arrived late. Some were so upset they were in tears. My reservation was good still being only 1 hour late. They are not at the airport so the travellers denied cars are now stranded outside the airport. Poor customer service. Many customers called the reservation line to inform them about their flight delays. There was no communication to the people working that night. No sympathy, and no attempt to help them. Just a sorry....next.

I honestly don't think anything could've been done better. My husband is not a fan of smaller cars but we couldn't see renting something big for 3 days. All of the employees were super friendly & helpful with our rental experience. Thank you for that.

I end up not getting the car. It was uncomfortable to have biometrics taken to rent a car and to catch the agent taking pictures of my documents with her personal phone. The deposit of 14,000 (fourteen thousand) dollars was excessive to say the least. The insurance they offer was also excessive in price 90usd per day but glass and tires were not covered. Why do they need an airplane ticket in order for me to rent a car? Do I need to fly in ondee to drive? I do not understand why they needed to know my travel itinerary. Turns out I did not get the car because of all cars had foreign registration, which was inconvenient for me.

My flight was delayed by 2 hours due to bad weather. I arrived in Atlanta at roughly 10:30pm and made it to the Fox/Europcar desk at 10:45pm. There were no service members there. After waiting for a couple minutes, I asked an employee of a different company at a neighboring desk and they said I would have to locate the office downstairs in the garage to pickup my key. After making my way downstairs and locating the office, I arrived at exactly 11pm as two employees were exiting the office. When I told them I was there to pick up my car, they said they were closed, the computers were shut down, and there was no way to go back into the office and get the keys for my rental. They then told me that my reservation was nonrefundable. I had to go back up to another company's desk and rent a car from them for my 2-hour drive. The complete lack of customer service was the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Lesson learned.

Drop off was horrible. I was yelled at by the man checking cars in told me I couldn’t leave the car where I left it, but I was unable to back up and it was a lane clearly marked fox returns. I’ll never rent from fox again.

The place was too far from airport. The waiting time was agonizing. There were too many hidden fees. I couldnt back out of the car since i had already waited an hour and a half and i was too far from the airport i just wanted the car and leave.

I had a great experience. Easy to find pick up location since they have signs everywhere. Drivers are nice and helpful and offered a water which was great after a flight. I arrived and was treated great. David was awesome, No pressure very nice and helpful! I returned car and the gentleman that received my car was also awesome, nice and very polite! I was worried because of the reviews but im glad i gave them a try. I would rent from them again.

Easy to get to the lot outside the airport. When I arrived at check in, all of the up sale started. Was charged for daily loss of use insurance because I didn’t have that on my personal insurance. They also made it difficult to use my SunPass for the toll roads. Wanted me to purchase theirs for $69/day! That would have been more than the rental. I went to find the car and the attendant said to just hit the key fob to find the car. When I got in, it had an incredibly strong marijuana odor. Car was good; no complaints there. Checkout was excellent; quick and easy. Ended with a quick shuttle to the airport.

The fees were NOT transparent at all. After waiting in line for well over thirty minutes, the total cost of the rental was DOUBLE what we had booked through Kayak. The agent was nice enough and answered questions but did not tell us the total. She said there were additional fees but didn’t say what they were. She asked for my credit card and I did not realize she was charging for the rental amount until she asked for my pin. The total did not appear on the credit card machine or anywhere else. Only then, did I stop her and ask for the total which is the point when I found out the total was double. I asked her to explain exactly what the fees were again - she offered for me to come around the counter to look at the invoice but would not explain directly. Her only real explanation was that “this is why you don’t book through Kayak.” Despite having insurance from an outside company and AAA we were told we could not waive the insurance fee nor the roadside assistance fee. Additionally, we were given a sedan, not the SUV we had booked. Which gave us serious issues at our final destination which was in the back country of Utah. We were not told what kind of vehicle we were getting - just handed keys and told to click it in the parking lot. At this point we were so frustrated, we just left. Be prepared for outlandish fees by the time you actually go there. Ours was double the cost for a one week rental. It may be the same cost as other rental companies at that point but I really did not appreciate what felt like repeated attempts to hide the cost from me. Will not book from them again and may actually avoid booking rental cars through kayak altogether.

I was told I would get 25km free when I rented this vehicle and it’s been a struggle to get that. Routes charged for for the full km without giving me the 25 free and now trying to get that back has been very annoying. Would not recommend going here go elsewhere and save you a headache.

Kayak + the rental company need to get in sync before they direct people to this rental company. I was denied a rental car at the facility on the day of my rental because I am a Florida resident. There should have been a CLEAR WARNING at the time to my rental finalization ON YOUR WEBSITE or the customer service should have reached out way a head of the rental date to let me of this RIDICULOUS policy. I couldn't rent the car and it ruined my family vacation, not to mention the issues with hotel booking at the destination. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

Then had to take an Uber to arrive timely to the destination and was late in arriving having to make alternative travel arrangements to continue my trip. They gave me a car with 3/4 of a tank and said to bring it back with same amount. How do you gage 3/4 of a tank when filling it? It's a scam to get it returned with more fuel than they gave you. The customer service people were nice, though.

Generally good overall experience with Alamo. No issues with vehicle rented. The car I reserved wasn't available when I arrived at Alamo. The worker arranged for an "upgrade" that upgraded the cost by adding $70 to the cost of the rental, not including fees. Wasn't expecting this. Wish I had other options but needed the rental car so agreed to the extra charge. That was the biggest negative with this rental experience.

The vehicle I reserved had an inoperative AC compressor. Alamo quickly substituted an equivalent vehicle but the new car was EXTREMELY dirty from the previous family and had not likely been cleaned by Alamo. I was in an rush to depart for our family trip so I could not take the time to have Alamo clean the car. During the course of the rental period, I detailed the interior which was filthy and washed the outside of the vehicle. As I was returning the car at Orlando International Airport, the attendant asked me if I was happy with the rental. I explained what happened and what I had done. He instantly apologized and then offered to compensate me with a discount on the rental. I was overwhelmed and shocked that he would offer that to me without my asking. It shows how serious Alamo is about customer satisfaction. I would rent from Alamo any time I am on travel. Keep up the great work!

I rent a car with kayak 4 day before and I arrived to the location they told me we don’t have any reservation for you and the last minute I go to Rent Car from different company this company they don’t know what they doing. We had a flat, we were in Tennessee and it was raining and when we call for assistance they told us that since we had a complete tire in the trunk we had to change the tire. If we have to change the tire again then we had to call for road assistance. It was a complete disaster.

I returned the car early and still got charged the full rate. The only reason I us d them , is cause everyone else was booked and it was a emergency. It was $350 more than everyone else. If it wasn't a emergency , I wouldn't have even used them. I will never use them again. The lady at the pickup was very friendly and helpful, but that doesn't make you for the rest of the service.

I initially reserved some kind of Jeep. The website offered an upgrade to a BMW X2, which is a lot smaller. At the counter I told them I needed to carry 3 people and luggage. The back only held 2 suitcases, so the third had to go in the back seat. The only option they had to get something bigger would have cost a lot more per day. I should not have upgraded. The employee only gave me options for full coverage or basic coverage, not no coverage. I think that is very deceptive. After arriving at my hotel I called about exchanging it for something bigger and was told I would receive a call or email in 24-36 hours. I never received a call or email. Overall I was very disappointed in this company.

Even with 2 weeks notice they couldn't arrange a regular sized suv for Orlando airport. I booked and paid for it, then got a call the next day saying 'sorry, we don't have that vehicle'. Well your website let me book it. It was a Ford Explorer or equivalent, not something unusual. They hung on to the payment for a week though. I booked with Alamo instead and had a seamless experience.

I rented 2 vehicles online and nothing was listed about not accepting debit cards. When my husband and son arrived, they were told we couldn’t use a debit card. The only credit card we have has a low limit (our choice) and wouldn’t support both rentals after the “hold” fees were added. Avis finally allowed us to use our debit card after making my husband feel like they were doing us an enormous favor. He also had to do all the paperwork again so what was done online was useless. Then they had his name wrong and after pointing it out, she crossed through it and told him to sign. I had purchased the additional insurance online but she insisted that we hadn’t and added it again so now I have to fight that. We also paid for a gps which came with a broken cord which we didn’t know until we were on the road so we had no way to charge it. This was the poorest experience we’ve ever had renting a vehicle and we won’t use Avis again.

The gentleman in Orlando was extremely helpful! Anyone we spoke to on the phone was not. I called one of the 1800 numbers and the woman was rude and didn’t help much. The woman at the a Philadelphia location was not helpful either. Seemed like I was inconveniencing them with questions. Not good customer service.

I get there and they said they didn't have a reservation for me, then after a minute they found it, then said "we don't have any cars at that price" then reluctantly offers me another vehicle at the same charge. I then give her my debit card and she tells me it's declined, had to call my son to come pick me up, we went down the road to Enterprise despite the fact the it was a little more expensive some how my card that was declined just minutes before went through with no issues whatsoever.

Hertz gave us the wrong car and insisted that this is the car we booked. We booked a car with two full suitcases and 7 passengers. They gave us a gmc acadia which did not fit 7 with 2 suitcases. Kayak showed us prices with tax included but hertz said the price did not include tax and they charged us tax on top.

My plane was an hour late and U-Save was the only car place that closed at 8pm, which is kind of ridiculous for an LAX airport car rental service. None of my emails said anything about when it was closing or that I had a pick-up time that was close to closing. When I called, no one answered . Additionally, the refund/cancellation policy was two sentences long and basically said, "nope"

No point in asking pre check in only to ask for the same info at the desk. Waiting in line 20 minutes to get car is unacceptable. I was not aware I rented a fully electric vehicle until I got to the desk to check in. After agreeing to that I walked out to garage to have to wait in line again. The check in process was poor, at best. I was told to go back inside after the kiosk associate told me I was in the wrong to see her first. This was incorrect. I had a contract as a VIP member and the sign posted about check in prior to 11am was correct which it wasn’t. Once I received my car and logged it with SunPass and loaded bags I was denied exit due to a registration issue/given the wrong 3 row SUV. I was asked to drive back, see the same rude woman and get a new SuV. Unload. Load again. Re-register with SunPass. Oh, except this time the car they gave me was the body of a three row SUV without the option ticked for the seats themselves. Lovely, as I needed the seats for my family and not so much for the extra bag space. I left. Made it worked but so aggravating. No more Dollar. Worth spending the extra money for SIXT.

There was a long (2 hours) queue when picking up the car at the airport. When picking up the car it had been cleaned with a very smelly cleaner. The smell did not go away during the entire 3 week rental. The dropping off was easy and fast - so it was totally opposite experience between picking up and dropping off the car. The deposit paid when picking up the car was returned within a few days.

Except for a “Karen” at the front desk, the associates are really kind. The shuttle drivers are great, but there are hidden fees everywhere, and you need to add two hours just to get into their parking lot and wait in a super long line for your car. I don’t recommend this place and won’t use it again.

First of all, you never told me where to pick. I guess I never read the emails, but you never told me where to pick up the car so when I got to Florida airport, I tried to reach out to you and there’s no nowhere to call and it was voice automated is my first time to run from you guys so it be nice to receive a phone call the day before or two days before to tell me where to pick up the car And I thought it was actually gonna be easy to pick up the car at the airport that would be easy, but I am new to renting cars so it would be nice to get feedback but I’m hoping that you guys could reimburse me the $90 for fee but if you can reach out to me, my number is 9175181031. I never got the car so how can I know? I’m not computer savvy on the computer so having to rent with somebody else but going forward I think I know it’s on my part but should’ve reached out to me. Shame on Kayak that is dealing with fraud companies like Nextcar. I’m disputing the payment because the company doesn’t exist in Bucharest. We went all the way to the office and there’s no furniture, no people, just an empty office and people from next door telling us that the police has been many time here looking for someone from Nextcar. This is a scam!

The meet/greet was at the airport, but a bit if a walk awayto the furthest parking lot. I called the customer service person who had reached out to me on WhatsApp, to reassure me the pickup would happen as planned...and it did. The car was perfect, newer, clean, and ran very well. The tank was almost on E, at pickup but outside of that a good enough experience. It did the job!

Wait time for pick up at the airport was extremely long. Tha rental place had only one man rin pick up and drop off. The rental place is being run from an hotel lobby which looks awkward to me. I had 2 flat tires which made it impossible to move, on calling the rental, they told me to call my insurance company because towing assistance wasn't part of the contract, so, incase you rent from York Car Rental any problem you encounter during the duration of your rental is entirely yours. The usual practice that the rental place will send you another vehicle as replacement is out of it at York. I had to spend additional $320 out of pocket to tow and replace the tires🙁🙁🙁. Even with this experience, I will give kudos to the Driver, who is an amazing guy 👍🤝.

Absolutely terrible experience and will never use Turo. Apparently the car we had arranged months before was smashed two weeks before we we due to pick it up. Trouble is, no one told us until we were on the Eurostar on the way to get it. They had had our money for ages. Seems like the owner, Luke, was trying to get Turo to make up the difference and hire us his more expensive alternative (a Porsche, which I wouldn’t want anyway). Turo “help” line was totally unhelpful. Couldn’t end the deal; couldn’t refund without us getting on to another department (hard on a foreign phone). They can’t call you…. So it was impossible to organise an alternative. If there is a problem with a car hire company, they just replace it. Turo was more expensive and unable to fix a problem. Never again.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

Employees were nice. When I arrived to pickup car they informed me that they don't take my insurance and charged me 433 dollars. Had no choice as I was out of state, 2hours from destination and had my daughter with me. I've never had someone not accept my insurance. I will never rent with them again and with make sure I relay my experience with them on social media. Unscrupulous business practice.

The car itself was fine. Pick up was complicated and delayed, and after waiting more than 30 minutes, I had to call for pick up to the offsite (kind of creepy/ isolated) site. And then we began the haggling- extra “compulsory “ insurance, extra daily charge for tolls, my car insurance not being sufficient. Essentially attempts to quadruple what I expected to be the “total” rental price. It’s such a racquet.

The pricing was utterly "un-transparent". CarRental8.com charged us $277 for the week. But, in the fine print (though without specifying the amount), it turned out that OC Car Rental had other charges -- to the tune of $222 (a $20/day charge for "mandatory supplementary liability insurance" -- despite the fact that I am covered by my regular auto insurance - and a $35 "car rental center fee" and a $25 "enhanced disinfecting cleaning fee" and a $14 "surcharge"). This is truly despicable behavior by a car rental agency, and I do plan to report it to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.

Our flight was delayed by several hours and we were still in the air at the time of our rental. When we finally landed and got in touch with the company, I was told that my reservation that I had already paid for had been canceled since we hadn't picked up the car on time (due to something completely beyond my control.) Now I'm fighting to even get a refund and we didn't have a car to use on vacation. Run the other direction from this company.

I traveled for business and processed this reservation online through Kayak with a business card. When I landed at the airport to pick up my rental car, the woman at the counter informed me it was not paid for just "reserved" and they couldn't charge the same card. A rental car for an entire week is A LOT of money to pay when you are under the assumption it is already paid for. This was definitely not communicated clearly in the booking process. I have rented cars several other times at a variety of places and this was not the process previously. When I returned the car to the airport, not a single counter was manned. All counters had signs pointing to each other saying "if no one is at this counter please go to the (insert company name here) counter".....but nobody was there. I finally settled on putting the keys for my National rental in the Enterprise dropbox on the counter because it was the only safe way to return it.

1. no signs for Europcar- confusing. have to to to Fox rental. 2. This requires taking a shuttle, which i wanted to avoid. 3. going to the counter and being inundated with possible uncharges is a bad experience. 4. also, in a moment of weakness I elected for prepaying for the gas refill. I was going to be driving 2 hours away... turns out I was charged $.15/gal over the going rate. ugh. next time I will go with a more direct simple rental experience.

I reserved this as a referral from Kayak to Rentalcars.com. Their website, along with the confirmation email stated a "Total Cost" of $111.72. When I picked up the car, the agent presented me with "additional local costs" amounting to an additional $71.18. This included an unheard of "Pickup Fee" for $10.00 and "Dropoff Fee" for $10.00. I have never been charged these from any rental agency, anywhere in the world prior to this. None of these "additional local" charges were listed anywhere before pickup. The contract stated "Total Cost" of $111.72, and that's what I expected. In addition, the $250.00 "security deposit" has not been refunded or credited to my credit card as of yet. I have tried all morning to reach the agency to inquire about this. They answered only after about 30 minutes of putting me on hold. The representative could not give me any reasonable answers about the additional charges, but said the security deposit would take 5-10 business days. I will monitor that. Please remove Global Car Rental from your list of agencies. They have committed what I believe is a classic case of Bait and Switch.

I was charged significantly more than what I had booked the car for. They charged me for the liability insurance and did not give me an option without it. The offsite location was cumbersome and confusing. There was no one on site. They used a virtual kiosk which is fine, but had I known that I would’ve spent a little extra and gone to one of the major brands and picked it up at the airport. The car was about what I expected for a cheap rental car, that in the end wasn’t very cheap. It ended up being far more expensive than it should’ve been for the car that I ended up with. Overall a poor experience and I will not rent with them again if I make a similar trip.

The pick up process wad complicated. You have to speak to someone on a screen, and then they require that you go around the vehicle and take a lot of pictures to stay within the contract requirements. This made the pickup process complicated and stressful. Once familiar with the process, the drop off was easier and I would think it’s easy going forward, but it was complicated the first time.

You book online, it says total final price but in fact you pay 3x more at the office. The car breaks in the middle of journey (after first week) and you wait for car replacement for 6 hours (with inside baby in the car) while they keep of lying to you that they arrive in 2 hours.

Renter beware. This company will tell you to have repairs made, provide them the receipt, but then they will not refund your money as promised (also had full coverage insurance through the company). The car itself is cheap to rent, but the insurance will get you. Do not recommend, because of their shady practices.

Rent-A-Wreck is a dubious company. First, they lied on their listing by stating they're located 'in Terminal' on their Kayak profile. They are an off-site location requiring a shuttle. Secondly, they promote a base rent amount inclusive of taxes, which makes it seem that it's the final price. Upon arriving at the rental location, the reservation price triples when they add approximately 13 additional charges, and the employees claim they cannot be removed. Finally, the place is significantly understaffed, the staff who are there don't care about being efficient or expeditious about getting clients into a vehicle, and the cars that they do bring out are in a mediocre state of cleanliness. I think that Kayak and Expedia need to take a hard look at this company.
