Great location. None of the amenities are available yet, and they still charge a resort fee. I booked through a third party and was not aware of that. Also they charge 100/night for a deposit, and you don’t get your money back for 5-7 days after your stay. That’s a very strange practice. I can’t recommend it.
I’ll start, the location and for its price is a Great deal! Literally, less than a block away from the Santa Monica Pier sign! The facilities, I have a poor rating. The pool is MUCH smaller than the photos (think of it as the size in someone’s backyard). They’ve made a significant attempt at making it look nice without it actually being nice with regards to design and decoration. But the main reason for my poor rating is the card keys use to enter rooms and use the elevator. The key worked for the elevator and room once, maybe twice; but when I couldn’t get the elevator to move, I stepped aside to let someone else try with their key. Neither of our keys would move the elevator (the light has to turn green and you have to insert it Multiple times in hopes it turns green). When I told the night manager, he made me feel stupid like I didn’t even try and tested it in the other elevator (not the elevator I was struggling with). I guess it happens a lot, if he has no patience with the customers it doesn’t work for… I only needed this place for the night (my son and I) so I wasn’t asking a whole lot from this place, but I think I would’ve been happy to spend more for a different experience. Oh and parking is $40, I don’t know if that’s a good price for this area.
Pros. Location
Cons. Cleanliness of room....while our room was "clean" there was a visible blood stain on the bedding....Grossed me out!!!
Pros. Room was clean, and checkin/checkout was very fast. Pretty decent business hotel overall.
Cons. The bed was not very comfortable. Rooms are a bit outdated and the value isn't good for what you get.
Pros. Comfy bed, proper hair dryer, complimentary fast wifi in room, complimemtary dressing gowns, ipod docking station in room, facilities excellant, location is perfect for pier/beach as you are literally across the road, also very near 3rd street too for shops and reataurants. Staff very helpful and friendly.. Would defiently stay here again and again.
Cons. I couldnt stay longer!!
Pros. In front of pier
Cons. The rooms were dark and poorly decorated facing a very busy and extremely noisy highway. Though the hotel is facing the sea, it is very difficult to get to the entrance. The parking was exorbitant: $43 a night!!! I do not recommend this hotel
Pros. The location was great only a short walk to the pier. The rooms were clean enough. There was a pool. The elevator worked.
Cons. The elevator was busy during the day with cleaning staff. Our rooms didn't get clean until very late in the day and then barely. There was a pool but no one told us how to find it. There was a resturant in the hotel but no signs for it or any thing in the information in the room about its even being there. I paid extra for the ocean view witch was almost none existent. Not my best experience with Wyndham
Pros. One of the best customer service experiences I've had at a hotel in years. The front desk staff, the valet, housekeepers, and the service technician were all excellent. The service technician had to come to the room because the heat wouldn't turn on and he arrived in less than 5 minutes and had the heat working in less 3 minutes, and was polite and amiable. The hotel was clean, and in a great location (walking distance to the pier, good restaurants and bars, and the 3rd street promenade shopping area). Didn't use the pool but it looked nice.
Cons. Overnight parking at the hotel is an extra $40; in my opinion, it should be included for guests.
