We paid for a queen and they gave us a double bed and wouldn’t make it right. Scam of a business
Cons. Breakfast was lame. A brown bag with a tiny cup of OJ, a tiny cup of fruit cocktail, a granola bar, and a danish. The 2nd morning there was no OJ, but 2 granola bars. The danish’s packages were split open. We skipped the next one. Noisy people in the parking lot came through loud and clear all the way up to the 3rd floor. The room needed a facelift. Aside from the poorly repaired places on the walls and door, the broken lamp switch and the smell of stale cigarette in a nonsmoking room, the whole place was run down.
Pros. Location, pretty quiet considering!
Cons. Bathroom wasn't very clean and mattresses aren't comfortable at all. Loud a/c.
Pros. I didn't spend 50 on a hotel expecting much, and didn't get much so all is well!
Pros. The door locked... To keep out the homeless and drug dealers.
Cons. Boogers and blood on the sheets and comferter. Room wasnt very clean. Matress was horrible. Could have spent $20 more on a half decent place. Tom Bodett wouldnt even stay here. Seemed like 3/4 of the rooms had people living in them longterm.
Pros. nothing
Cons. PROSTITUTES. witnessed pimp pick one up in short time i was getting luggage. Took wrong turn initially and there was a cop posted behind the walmart next to the motel, ARMED WITH SHOTGUN. quickly turned around and got to our hotel only to witness a pimp picking up a prostitute (she was yelling to men from a motel room she came out of telling them next time she wanted a skirt?) quickly went inside, only to then witness a cop badger my boyfriend who was grabbing his socks from the car. He made it inside safe when 30 minutes later a person right under our room had gotten arrested, for what I could only assume from peeking out my window and watching the interaction as tweaking out on something. Got out alive and very thankful for the low crime rate of small town Des Moines. True story, will verify if needed.
Pros. I like how big the bathroom was. It was a modern bathroom
Cons. There was evidence of someone smoking inside the room
Pros. Luckily, I got a handicapped room which meant the bathroom was huge (the size of the room) and looked brand new
Cons. BUT. that's where the pros end. The room reeked of cigarettes and gave me a cough the next day, everyone is incredibly loud and have no respect for people sleeping, there was a loud squeaky bed above me that wouldn't let me sleep, and this is the 2nd room we moved to. The first one: the ac didn't work and the door lock was broke. Oh and someone relieved themselves in the toilet and didn't flush. I would spend an extra $25 and stay somewhere much better
Cons. We arrived at 330 to check in. The front desk staff was extremely rude. We were told, after waiting in line for 20 minutes, that our room would be another hour. We had 2 dogs with us that had been in the car since 6am. We were there for a hospital appt. So, an hour came and went and we got no call that our room was ready. Finally, around 5, we stopped back at the front desk and were given a key. The room was dirty, small and smelled like smoke, There were drug deals going on on the corner. This was a horrible experience.
Cons. A lot of crime in the area... Woken up by sirens and flashing lights in the parking lot two times during my stay.
