The Villa Del Palmar is one of the Cancun’s most upscale spots for a family-friendly, all-inclusive getaway. Its Playa Mujeres location means that it feels secluded and quiet, but its extensive assortment of activities helps ensure guests are always busy with activities everyone can enjoy.
The Villa Del Palmar is north of Cancun in a private resort community on a white-sand beach with lots of features including five pools, six restaurants, a gym, spa, and kids' club with its own splash pool. There is an array of daily activities such as tequila tasting, cooking lessons, and face-painting, and many adult-only areas. While there is plenty to do, the beach remains one of the major highlights at the resort.
There are six restaurants, plus a local market near the resort. Two additional snack bars and three cocktail bars are available. Guests often book all-inclusive packages, which includes meals and standard alcohol and wines.
The 415 spacious, homey suites all feature kitchens, plus balconies with hammocks, many with ocean views. Standard rooms at the resort include fully stocked wet bars, microwaves, coffeemakers, and mini-fridges. There are three main room categories including One-Bedroom Suites, Deluxe Rooms, and Two-Bedroom Suites.
For families and couples seeking to avoid the hustle and noise of the busy hotel zone, but still want an upscale resort with plenty to do, Villa Del Palmar is one of the area's best options.

Pros. Family friendly and great amenities.
Pros. The place is not fancy or amazing but it's decent and overall good. The food is probably the best part, and the resort is isolated (no other resort or civilization around) so the place doesn't get overpack which makes the overall experience better. (This is not the place you would want to party or go in early twenties) The best best part was the seafood, every restaurant's best items were seafood (not shrimp), and the best restaurant was hiroshi (sushi restaurant). In this hotel every restaurant is included in all inclusive price, and you do not need to make a reservation to eat at a restaurant. The view is not the best around the resort (a bunch of trees with construction site), but the downtown isn't very far (20 minutes away by cab). The outside resort is overall safe but be aware of cabbies and make sure you negotiate the cab fare before you get in the cab. They do try to rip you off if you are a tourist. Ask the hotel what the fare should be on the way back to the hotel as price from and to hotel is significantly different (cab fare back to hotel is about half the price and this one way back to hotel is not a set price so it can be negotiated whereas the cab fare from hotel to destinations have set fare and prices tend to be much higher).
Cons. There are tiny little ants in all the rooms. I had a group of friends who had different rooms on different floors, and we all had ants. The beach is decent but it's very rocky (little rocks that pokes your feet as you are trying To get in the water). Water is warm and decent (it's not clear or murky). They do have a security personnel at the beach to watch over your personal items so you can go in the water and leave your items behind. Mexican restaurant's most items are terrible tasting but tuna dish and Mexican rice dish were very good and guacamole was fresh but bland. Steak restaurant was okay. Half of us did get mild to moderate stomach upsetness after staying there 2 -3 days. At this hotel, wifi is $10 daily and the connection isn't great, but at the Starbucks, there is a free wifi. The resort does offer time share, and a little section of it is reserved for time share members only.
Pros. Lovely staff, nice rooms, a great place to stay

Included are all onsite restaurants, taxes, and gratuities; however, special rates may apply for specific beverages or meals (usually very expensive ones). Special activities like the cooking classes or the family photo shoot are, for instance, not included, nor are romantic dinners for two on the beach.

The Romantic Night Package indulges with a spa experience for two and chocolate-dipped strawberries. A romantic dinner on the beach rounds off your couple’s experience perfectly.
The onsite kids’ club makes having vacation fun very easy, and while parents dash off to a spa appointment or time alone on the beach, children can benefit from the professionally guided and supervised activities. Children under 4 can stay with trained child care nannies for approximately 295 MXN (15 USD) per hour.
