Top tips for finding cheap flights to Vietnam

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Vietnam flight deals.
  • Noi Bai Airport (HAN) is based in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Passengers flying into Vietnam’s capital should consider using this airport since it is situated in the capital hence it makes it easier to move around the city center.
  • Tan Son Nhat Airport (SGN) is the largest airport in Vietnam. It has two terminals, the domestic terminal, and the international terminal. The domestic terminal has two levels; the arrival hall and the departure hall of the domestic flights are all located on the ground level. The first floor is where lounges are located and have access to the four boarding bridges. A shuttle bus offers terminal connections.
  • Da Nang Airport (DAD) allows traveling with pets. Passengers traveling with pets must contact the airline company to book 24 hours before departure. The passenger is required to arrive early enough at least 2 hours before departure to complete all procedures before the flight and a waiver of responsibility must be completed.
  • There are one-stop flights to Vietnam. Some of the airlines that offer one-stop flights from the US include ANA and JAL via Tokyo (NRT) and EVA Air and China Airlines via Taipei (TPE). The one-stop flights might be considered by those who find the distance to be long and one needs to stop to rest for a while.
  • If you are visiting My Khe Beach, consider having your flight to Da Nang International Airport. It is situated next to the beach, and it has access to central Vietnam. This help to minimize a lot of movement during one's visit.
  • US citizens and permanents residents should be aware that a visa is required to visit Vietnam. Please make sure that your passport has two blank pages and is good for a period of six months from the date you enter the country. Each person is entitled to remain up to 30 days and should always travel with their papers throughout their stay.
  • Additionally, it is also possible to receive a visa on arrival in Vietnam provided you have a previously approved letter from a travel agency. In this case, you will receive a visa stamp when you arrive at one of the international airports in the country. Be advised that there is a service fee for the approval letter and a fee for the visa stamp upon arrival in Vietnam.
  • All flights from the US to Vietnam will terminate at one of three international airports: Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), otherwise known as Hanoi Airport in the north; Da Nang International Airport (DAD) in the center of the country and Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN), otherwise known as Ho Chi Minh City Airport, in the south.
  • The capital city of Hanoi is the largest in northern Vietnam and is the principal airport in the country. There are only two other regional airports in the area: Dien Bien Phu Airport (DIN) in the west and Cat Bi Airport (HPH) in the city of Hai Phong in the east, so you should take care with your travel plans in this area.
  • Vietnam has several towns and cities that dominate its central coast along the South China Sea stretching from Vinh in the north down to Na Trang and Da Lat in the south. On arrival at Da Nang Airport, you can take a connecting flight to any of the airports along the coast, or Pleiku Airport (PXU) and Buon Ma Thuot Airport (BMV) to explore the central interior.

It was horrible. The flight crew was unfriendly and the food was absolutely horrible.

Absolutely horrible. The fight member crew or not very friendly and the food was horrible.

It would be better if flight crew can clearly communicate in english. But they are kind and accommodating. Food is good, especially the sandwiches on the self-serving snack trays. They are better than the ones served. Boarding was organized.

So far one of the good one , whenever I go to Korea , I always use Korean airline .

They could have had more up to date movies/better choice of music.

Terrible experience will never fly Delta again. Delayed flight with total disorganization and inept crew who wouldn’t communicate.

Will try never to fly Delta international again. Flight delayed and staff completely inept in dealing with it. Would not communicate, rude, completely disorganized. Once we reached Seoul the staff there had no idea what to do with us and led us around the airport from one pointless line to another. They were clearly not told how to manage the situation even though they had hours to make a plan. Never again.

They texted me my gate number and then they texted me again it’s now boarding but in different gate, and the gate was so far from the gate they texted me earlier. I have to run just to get to my flight. They always do that.

Food tasted pretty good. Boarding was very smooth and efficient, compared to all other airlines I’ve been on. I have flown EVA, Cathay, Asiana, British Airways, and many USA brands. Cabin attendants were also efficient and professional.

On time departure and exceptional customer service during the entire flight.

It was a good flight. I would highly recommend it to family and friends.

The employees were professional and efficient. I consider myself a traveler but have trouble with the international fare served on airplanes. I admit Americans buy their food in the supermarket and we typically don’t eat the ligaments and cartilage. I know that is whiny but as I age, I dislike it more. At least things weren’t covered in cheese. The desserts are terrible! My neighbor didn’t eat her bread so I asked if I could have it. First time for everything but had been traveling a total of 27 hours and was hungry.

The night flight was only 2/3 full, which is always a plus. Room to stretch out for sleeping. Gracious stewardesses, attentive, and slim/attractive (which is rare these days). Good food, and curtesy wine.with meals. Comfortable seats and decent leg room (economy class)

On time service. Seat comfort and the crew service very good .

Only one Hindi movie from LA to Taipei and same movie from Taipei to Singapore Why we call it entertainment when I have to watch one movie for 18 hours flying ?

Only one Hindi movie from LAvto Taipei and same movie from Taipei to Singapore Really horrible and we call it entertainment???

I like Eva Air. I’ve been flying it for several years.. I did notice small changes for the worse by the staff. They’re still way above major carriers based in the USA.

Food was ok. Could have been better. Entertainment was limited, especially for kids.

The crew was very helpful. Food was prepared with great care and tasted wonderful. Movie selection was a bit limited. The bedding on the seat is a little too thin for sleeping.

Their announcement was not quite clear in Chinese. The rest is pretty good.

Great service and comfortable seats. The first meal was excellent but the second meal was only satisfactory

The staffs are very accomodating!!! The foods are good!!! The entertainment from manila to incheon was miserable because we need to use our own cellphones or own ipads.

Check in agent very rude, no greeting “Hi” or “ Thank you. Doesn’t direct where to go for gate info. In flight crew staff not friendly. Very disappointed ☹️

My favorite airline to fly across the Pacific. The Business class lounge is fantastic, the wonderful flight attendants are helpful and professional. Great comfort while flying.

Very comfortable seats, delicious meals, and friendly and helpful staff

The flight was delayed for 2 hours, however, we flew home safely.

I recently had the pleasure of flying with Asiana Airlines, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and warmth. The boarding process was seamless and well-organized, ensuring a stress-free start to my journey. Onboard, the flight attendants were attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to cater to passengers' needs. The seats were comfortable, with ample legroom, and the in-flight entertainment options were diverse and up-to-date, making the flight enjoyable and relaxing. Additionally, the meals served were delicious and well-presented, reflecting a high standard of culinary quality. The airline's commitment to safety was evident throughout the flight, with clear announcements and a reassuring presence from the crew. Overall, Asiana Airlines provided a top-tier travel experience, and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking comfort, quality service, and a memorable journey.

I’m glad to comeback after 7 years. Flight from LAX-ICN was excellent

The legroom in economy was better than other airlines. Since my legs are long, that means a lot. Also, the A380 from Los Angeles to Incheon gave passengers a smooth ride. Everything went smoothly from boarding to disembarkation in Incheon. I'd fly Asiana again!

It’s wonderful service aboard. Delayed for departure but arrival in Korea went so well.

Bars and restaurants in Taipei close early. The lounge isn’t very good, but better than the public areas.

The food was the only thing that could have made the experience even better. Everything was stellar but the food. The staff was superb. I’ve been flying with ANA for years as my go-to and I think I may have found my new favorite. 😍

Unable to set seat assignment. Got a call from presumably “China airlines representative” but was asking for an exorbitant amount for the seat assignment. Was traveling as a family end up being assigned to different seats as a result. Will never use underpricer again.

Not many selections for entertainment. Bulk head seats are no longer available with out fee at the counter. That’s pretty lame.

All of the staff were very helpful, polite I was very satisfied with China Airlines The food was normal for airlines but I’m sure they could do better

I would have liked to know how to order a special meal (for medical purposes) before the flight.

The flight who provided services on my row had some not-nice attitude and not smiling at all.

My flight to Los Angeles was canceled Had to book another flight and you charged me extra $500 Very bad experience

Comfort was left wanting due to such a long flight, made the wife and I wish we could upgrade the seats to Business class or First Class, but did not have that option. Food was good but had very limited options and I have a dietary restriction which was difficult for the staff to accommodate since everything provided came with cheese on it. (Cheese could potentially kill me) Did not have an option to inform the staff until we were already in the air about the restriction and was not provided another option before flight departed.

Decent flight, staff was very good, especially with the turbulence during the flight due to weather. Comfort was about par with other airlines but since it was a quick flight, was not much of an issue for us.

I upgraded to first class only to find out that I still had no access to the sky lounge without a sky miles card or AmEx (something that should be emphasized outside of the fine print!) Also, no food or drink service provided during the flight, so I basically paid 4x more just for “free” checked baggage and a bigger seat. Not worth it.

I appreciated friendly service from check-in, to boarding, to in-flight amenities! Attendants were accommodating and helpful. Thank you! Elaine

Delta was really good about being transparent with why we were delayed it’s just that’s the plane was really old and outdated and a lot of the comfort and amenities we know Delta to have did not shine through

Bottom seat cushion is almost non existent. Very uncomfortable seat.

Delta was great the entertainment was outdated. Screen was very small and didn’t work.

Flight did not have seat back entertainment and the wifi was iffy.

Pretty standard flight. Delta has a good selection of movies.

The WiFi has been awful on my last few Delta Air Lines flights.

The seats are uncomfortable, feels like a small seat pad on plywood.

The seats are uncomfortable and there was no power to recharge a phone.
