Top tips for finding cheap flights to Greece

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Greece flight deals.
  • Travelers with limited mobility should think about taking a flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Athens International Airport (ATH) when planning on traveling from the US to Greece by air. At LAX Airport, passengers with disabilities, mobility challenges, as well as any other special needs can request special assistance, like medical and safety aid, wheelchairs, or baggage assistance.
  • Airport lounges are regarded as the ideal venues for travelers to unwind while waiting for their flights to different destinations. Most budget travelers who want to unwind at a pocket-friendly lounge before catching their flights from the US to Greece choose Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) as their departure airport of choice. Budget travelers can comfortably relax before takeoff in SLC's Delta Sky Club lounge.
  • From the US, parents who want to take their kids on vacation to Greece may want to consider flying on Delta Airlines from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Athens International Airport (ATH). This airline provides continuous flights between JFK and ATH airports. You can travel from the US to Greece within the shortest amount of time possible by taking direct flights, which reduces the likelihood that your kids will be worn out before they get to Greece.
  • If you're using the SLC- Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia Airport (SKG) travel route and your aircraft from the US is scheduled to touch down in Greece at night, consider the possibility of staying in a hotel that is closer to Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia Airport. If passengers arrive in Greece at night, they can spend the rest of the night in one of the hotels close to SKG Airport.
  • The two main airports from which travelers who wish to book direct flights can depart from the United States to Greece are JFK and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). These are the primary US airports where Emirates and Delta Airlines have hubs from which they run direct flights to Athens' ATH Airport.
  • If you are taking a flight from the US to Greece, you will enter at one of two points: Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia (SKG) serves the greater metropolitan area of Greece’s second city in the north while Eleftherios Venizelos Airport (ATH), or Athens Airport, is your link to the capital, The Peloponnese and the islands of the Aegean Sea in the south.
  • The island of Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and represents the country’s southern boundary. It has two international airports: Chania Souda on the western flank of the island and Heraklion Airport (HER) roughly in the center of the island. From there, it’s easy to reach the eastern flank of the island and the towns of Sitia and Zakros.
  • The Cyclades are a cluster of islands that inhabit the southern part of the Aegean Sea, including the famous Mykonos, Thira (Santorini) islands and Naxos. If you will travel there, you can get a connecting flight from Athens to Santorini International Airport (JTR) and go from there, but most prefer to take the ferry from the Athens port of Piraeus and island hop.
  • Mount Olympus separates the regions of Thessaly and Macedonia, so it makes sense that your flight from the US to Greece should terminate at Thessaloniki Airport. From there, the journey is about a 3h drive and there are several tour buses that visit the area.
  • The islands of Chios, Lesvos and Samos mark the eastern regions of Greece and are closer to the coast of Turkey than to the mainland. A flight into Athens Airport will allow you to get a connecting flight from there to Chios Island National Airport (JKH) or Samos International Airport (SMI) and travel by ferry to Lesvos.

Delayed in taking off because no flight crew. The in seat entertainment was working properly.

All fine save for the abominable catering. Really gone downhill. We found it all inedible.

I upgraded to first class only to find out that I still had no access to the sky lounge without a sky miles card or AmEx (something that should be emphasized outside of the fine print!) Also, no food or drink service provided during the flight, so I basically paid 4x more just for “free” checked baggage and a bigger seat. Not worth it.

I appreciated friendly service from check-in, to boarding, to in-flight amenities! Attendants were accommodating and helpful. Thank you! Elaine

Delta was really good about being transparent with why we were delayed it’s just that’s the plane was really old and outdated and a lot of the comfort and amenities we know Delta to have did not shine through

Bottom seat cushion is almost non existent. Very uncomfortable seat.

Delta was great the entertainment was outdated. Screen was very small and didn’t work.

Flight did not have seat back entertainment and the wifi was iffy.

Pretty standard flight. Delta has a good selection of movies.

The WiFi has been awful on my last few Delta Air Lines flights.

I enjoy flying with Turkish Airlines and such good hospitality among the crew memebers

Good food and wine. Some of the Guy who are in charge to board Passengers on the plane couldn’t use the word “Please” to direct them drop their hand luggage to be loaded on Plane bcos he said the inside storage may not have enough room for all.

Turkish Airlines apparently no longer gives you 2 checked bags allowance on international flights, so that pleasure cost me $165 for my second suitcase at the airport. On top of that, they damaged that very suitcase, which happens to be a designer one and part of a set - ripped one of the four wheels right off.

Pretty standard for long haul international flying. Food was fine, tv/movie selection was great, wifi did not work at all, crew was pleasant enough.

Very poor service. Not friendly and special food ordered but not served

Very bad from ISTACC leg of flight specifically the seats. These seats are for economy not for Business class. I suppose when flying to a third world country you can fly any craft and no one questions it. I was very disappointed for that leg of the flight. This needs to change.

Was an excellent experience I have been flying Turkish Airlines for 5 years and always will

It was good. Turkish Airlines is one of the best airlines companies. I like a lot to travel with them

Four of my family members was settled in a different seats. I paid extra $200 dollars for 4 seats just to be all together, but they settled us on separated seats. After a lots of time they put us 2 and 2. My kids are 9 and 13 . How i can leave them alone???

It is much better than other airlines but not the best for the price

Long wait before take off without an update for 20 minutes. Flight was good otherwise.

Plane still had screens for watching movies. Good selection too.

The plane’s radio wasn’t working. This delayed the plane for an hour and a half. Then we all broaded and taxied down the runway only to get called back because the radio was still not working. Had to get off the plane and then find another plane making the trip 4 hours delayed. Maybe a different plane should have been chosen sooner?!?!?!

Flight delayed over 2 hours . I was flying bussiness never got food cause they ran out of what i wanted

Ground staff were excellent They helped to re book when our flight was canceled

The food for long haul was poor compared to Singapore airlines economy. Pasta plain with tomato sauce . Singapore airlines give me Hagen dash small ice cream cup it was great. The choices of dinner course Singapore air also much better The crew mostly friendly. The economy seat are as expected.

Flight was great my baggage was on time everywhere but my bags had been handled ruff cause they got damaged.

The plane was clean. The staff was excellent. The flight attendants were very good. Enjoyable flight. Overall. The seats in the back are too small but, will always be.

Overall good flight. The pilots were excellent. It was a nice flight, but the seats were a little uncomfortable.

There was no air on the plane and it was very hot.

I am not sure I like the new Discover line of Lufthansa. I have been flying from us to Italy for the past 30 years and always favored Lufthansa ove other Companies because of cleanliness, service, food, beverage. When compared white other airlines Lufthansa was always considered one of the best. I can't say that anymore. I fly Lufthansa only because I consider the line MCO to FRA timely convenient for my schedule but always look for alternatives when before I was considering other routes only if the price was in question.

Crew and service was excellent. My seat was super small and cramped! No leg room

Staff was great. Space in bathrooms was very good. Boarding went smoothly due to aisles. I would like more room in coach. 2 more inches would be helpful. Lost luggage was a big issue; more on the administrative side than flight related, but diminished the flight experience.

Good but entertainment system was not easy and very buggy

Actual flight was smooth but we were delayed 70 minutes. Were promised to make it up to us but were given no refreshments

Flight was cancelled and I got rebooked with anther airline. Also had booked a direct flight and got a layover.

Did not fly HOU to SAT as flight was cancelled.

Very nice. Crew was excellent and our seats had great legroom which we paid extra for so I highly recommend this option when flying internationally.

Zero legroom or space in economy. Flight was delayed into Munich causing a missed connecting flight and other missed bookings. :(

Not good. They charged an additional $70 to check a bag we had already paid for on line with Lufstansa

British Airways canceled my flight and I had to fly on Lufthansa the next day. What a garbage airline 🗑️

3 hr delay. No water given while on the plane for 3hrs.

No fast track available, no organisation. Unpleasant boarding system at gate 20 at JFK. When giving feedback to the lounge team I was told to talk to the manager instead of taking the feedback.

The whole experience was great. The only improvement would be the entertainment selection

Flight attendant kept banging her cart into my aisle seat. Hard. Couldn’t lean seat back. Should be warned of limitations when booking seat

I will travel by BA only in future also. Only suggestion is they should give aisle seat in front near washroom for senior citizens

Economy extremely cramped. Dinner was not good. Breakfast was quite good. Crew was excellent.

It was good overall. Entertainment was ok, one of the TV screens had issue. Bit old plane but leg space was good. Overhead luggage had good space. The worst part was experience at Heathrow airport, it was total chaos.

Comfortable, pleasant staff, quiet, good entertainment, food, drinks. Better than American (flight back) when we were crammed in and staff sometimes indifferent.

I was disappointed with the quality of the food and the fact that I was not given a toiletry bag for an overnight international flight
