Just a minor inconvinient with weather delay! but not Copa's fault
Copa delayed the fight three times. We ended up flying about 24 hours after the original time.
The seats had plenty of leg room and the staff were very nice.
Captain and Crew were excellent. The Boeing 737-800 was showing its age. In flight entertainment system was sluggish and my Business Class seat on the outbound flight had some mechanical issues. Only real problem was the location of the Gate in Panama PTY. It was a 40 minute hike from Security to the Gate. There should have been some sort of warning about the distance.
landed in panama it was in terminal one. We had to take a bus to terminal two for customs. Then back to terminal one. It was very frustrating. Then, on the way back from panama it was the same situation. We had to go back and forth between terminals to check in and drop our bags and then to board. When we were leaving, we had to wait in line for the boarding area and go through another gate security process. They told the bottles of water and coffee were bought while in line in the airport after we passed the main security. Ridiculous (and expensive). A much better communication system is needed.
This was my first time flying Copa but I'll definitely be back! Great service, professional agents, and delicious food for a fair price. Thanks for a great trip!
other than a slight delay in takeoff from Panama , the flights were excellent ..... we will continue to use Copa whenever possible for flights to and from Central and South America ....
I was fortunate enough to have an entire row to myself and that was the highlight. Unfortunately, the flight was really turbulent which had no impact on how effective the crew was. However, I am disabled and should have boarded the flight first, but that wasn't the case. They also decided to take my bag at the gate because I had one too many and upon my picking it up at JFK it along with my rollator had been damaged. I am a vegan so the didn't have a proper meal for me and I was unable to view the entertainment because I didn't receive a set of headphones and if I needed to supply my own I wasn't made aware of that either. The crew was great, but overall everything was pretty lackluster.

Be very careful of the initial low price because Avianca wil bill you for a carryon of $120 or a checked bag for $120. Also, be careful with connections because the customs entry process is slow and the connecting terminal is not close.
The connection time is too short to pass through customs and once you do clear customs the connecting flight is in another terminal that is not close.

I was surprised that they didn’t offer drinks at least even though it was an international flight.
Same experience, very poor food, drinks or entertainment while flying. There are some products offered to buy but only using debit or credit cards . No friendly for seniors or people without cards.
Charging for WATER on a SIX hour flight in repugnant. Enough said!
Worst in 25 years. A 10 hours flight from Buenos Aires to Costa Rica and no free food! Then the food available for purchase was sold out in 5 minutes. I was travelling with two kids and wasn't ready to keep them happy with chips and cookies for such a long time. Avianca doesn't make sure that minors sit next to an adult so I was forced to pay 65 USD for each seat in a so called premium seat whic is exactly the same as the economy free seats. Never again with Avianca.

We waited in an overcrowded bus for over a half hour. It was uncomfortable. It would have been better to have waited in the terminal in a line

I paid extra for a comfortable seat in the second flight, but the plane didn't have those seats, the first one did
The Arajet person who greeted us initially was unhelpful & rude about the mandatory migration form which has to be completed digitally but the systems don’t work properly. The boarding gate was changed twice and initial boarding was delayed. Once on board we we had to wait an hour and a half before take off. It was hot and there was very little room for tall-ish people to fit their knees in. The crew were pleasant but working in a poor situation. The plane was delayed because we were waiting for people from a delayed interconnecting flight. Arajet must have known that before we were asked to board. Better information, decisions & communication were needed.
My seat was broken and the crew had to find me somewhere else to sit. The crew was extremely courteous about this

Better overall experience from my first flight with Spirit several years ago. Efficient boarding (albeit I arrived after all rows were called) and flight actually left earlier than planned. I am still baffled by being charged for everything, even a non-alcoholic beverage. And there is definitely less seat room which makes a flight that’s more than 2 hours really uncomfortable.
Doubt that you care, the flight from OAK to Las Vegas took longer on the runway when we arrived. The flight attendants & pilot announced that they knew a lot of us were getting on a connection to Dallas & that it was waiting for us. Lied. Ended up having to take another layover & it’s added way more time to my flights. The ticketing staff at the gates were extremely rude. I don’t think I ever want to fly Spirit again.
Terrible they delayed our flight then when we got on they had to fix the plane then finally we left hours later and when we got there since they had screwed up everything else we had to wait for a walkway so we had to sit on the plane and they turned off the AC and it was fuckin hot
On a cross-country flight, we were not even permitted a complimentary cup of water. I understand the limitations that come with a budget airline ticket but to me, on a flight upwards of 5 hours, that's ridiculous. I will no longer be flying Spirit for cross-country flights.

It was terrible I want a free flight we were delayed for 6 hours and I was freezing in the airport
I didn't like that before both flights we had to wait for an hour sitting on the plane for maintenance reasons while this could have been done earlier. I also didn't like that we had to pay even for water. The small water bottle is 5 dollars. I also didn't like that the ticket didn't include either carry on or check in bag, are we supposed to travel without anything? I'm not happy with that.
Delayed, delayed, delayed, missed connection. They rebooked me 2 days after but only payed for 1 night at hotel…
This was the smoothest flight I have had in awhile. I was also offered an exit row seat for a great upgrade cost and was able to sleep almost thr whole flight due to comfort and a smooth flight. We left on time and arrived on time.
