KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Dublin

  • Looking for a cheap flight? 25% of our users found flights on this route for $107 or less one-way and $160 or less round-trip.
  • Flights from London to Dublin have multiple departure airports, including London Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick Airport (LGW), and London Stansted Airport (STN). The benefit of LHR over LGW and STN is its easier accessibility. On the other hand, the benefit of departing from LGW or STN, which are less popular routes, is that you have higher chances of getting cheaper flight deals.
  • Since London Gatwick Airport serves as a hub for British Airways, booking this airline gives you a chance to enjoy world-class lounge amenities. In addition to this, British Airways has a high frequency of daily flights to Dublin Airport (DUB) from LGW. Therefore, you can reliably get a flight that is convenient to your schedule.
  • Persons with reduced mobility (PRM) have nothing to worry about when flying from London to Dublin. At LGW, all airlines avail cab-to-aircraft wheelchair services to any travelers in need of those special services. Similarly, at DUB, all airlines have their staff deployed to strategic areas to offer mobility assistance to travelers with reduced mobility.

Heathrow and Gatwick are much easier to reach from central London, a 15 minute and 30 minute journey, respectively. The Stansted Express takes 47 minutes, while Luton is more complicated because there is no station at the airport and so you have to take a shuttle bus from the station to the airport. London City can be reached using the Docklands Light Railway, but there are fewer flights departing from this airport.
  • For passengers with time to kill at London Heathrow before flights from London to Dublin think about booking into the Aer Lingus Lounge in T2. Aer Lingus passengers can enjoy the lounge and its benefits for free while other passengers can use the lounge with a pre-paid lounge pass costing GBP30. This can be booked online or paid for at the reception desks.
  • If you would like to purchase some good old Irish whiskey as a reminder of your holiday to Dublin pop into The Loop – Dublin Airport’s duty free store which boasts The Irish Whiskey Collection with its 365 whiskeys to keep you going throughout the year. Both flights late. Almost missed connecting flight and flight staff not willing to help expedite us off the plane.

Probably my favorite airline and way to go to Europe. Everything went smoothly! Food was tasty, crew was pleasant. Really cannot complain!

Golf Bags never made it on the flight. Very expensive golf bag and. Clubs, shoes, clothing. Will file a claim against Aer Lingus

Horrible. Garbage airline. Due to the strike we got a replacement plane/crew. I didn't get my exit row seat I paid for. Food was horrible. Plane was hot and didn't have AC vents.

The first leg of my 2 flights were delayed, causing me to miss my second flight and have to stay the whole night in Dublin. Super upset with this experience, and I still need to figure out how to get compensated for this.

Everything went well, but could have used a bit more legroom.

The flight got us safely from point a to point b and on time. For a transatlantic flight that isnt nothing. Flight crew was kind and professional. The seats are super uncomfortable (worse than domestic budget airlines) and the cabin was DIRTY.

Long unexplained delay, uncomfortable back row, long waits for trash collection.

Great service on the plane and by ground staff. great prices. I was able to change seats on the plane. The allocated seats cannot be changed when checkin in online. They have to be done at the airport if you check in at the airport or on the plane by asking a stewardess / steward.

We were diverted to warsaw and there was zero information. We were just forced to disembark and off we go good luck the reat of the way. We all had to go our ways to find a way home!!!! Horrible horrible and it cost us alot of money to get a hotel and trains 4:30 pm next day.

all fine - did not have food - there was no entertainment

Long delay was made worse by lack of information and long time in queue waiting for the plane to arrive

Delayed delayed delayed and then cancelled very late not allowing for too much time to find a room for the night

Blood contaminated tissue was stuffed to the back of the seat in front of us.

Great flight, departed only 10 mins behind schedule off the aircraft and through security in less than 15 minutes. Love flying from Cardiff so easy a quick from entrance to duty free in less than 10 minutes 😀

My flight was delayed 1 hour. My Mood was not great

Lord knows why they had us start boarding when the plane wasn't even there, staff weren't welcoming and the couple next to me travelling with a young child had a nightmare with the baby changing facilities.

This time round it was very good, flight delayed by 30mins but capitan put his toe to the floor and made some time up!!

Boarding at Birmingham was appalling, made to stand in a corridor which claims to be a gate for an hour, despite knowing full well the flight was delayed….. the crew were fantastic and you have to feel sorry for them dealing with the delay caused three fold, inbound delay, damage to front baggage hold door and finally a further ATC delay. On board experience was good and crew friendly and helpful.

The seats of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner were ridiculously uncomfortable. I was on 10 flights during this vacation and this plane was super uncomfortable both times I was on one whereas all of the others were perfectly fine. Additionally, these planes do not have any air vents that passengers can control, the climate is entirely controlled by the crew which made for an extremely uncomfortable temperature for the duration. The flight attendants tried to make everyone happy with the temperature but several people you could tell were excessively warm and just wanted a bit of airflow.

Everything was fine except not posting the gate number until 14 minutes before boarding. In an airport the size of Heathrow, that was unacceptable.

We already had a five hour layover in London, and then they cancelled our flight about half hour before we were due to board. They wouldn't give us access to the lounge and hanging around the extremely busy terminal for another three hours until our next flight was crappy. 8 hours in a busy terminal is awful. The least they could have done was give us access to one of their quiet, comfortable lounges for the inconvenience. I heard from others that they do this a lot -- cancel these short flights if they're not completely full. When we got onto the next flight it was absolutely packed and uncomfortable. Just very disappointing. British Airways used to be a great airline to fly with, but it doesn't feel that way at all now.

Don't fly thru London Awful and huge U need 4 hrs to transfer cuz u have to tale buses to and fro from airplanes Bad business

Staff with low service level, forgetful. Temperature at 15 C and after asking twice to raise the temperature the crew did nothing.

Economy extremely cramped. Dinner was not good. Breakfast was quite good. Crew was excellent.

They took good care of me on the plane and had it not been for handicap assistance I would definitely had missed my connecting flight . Not BA fault but The airport security instead . Two hours is way too long for security

The least comfortable business class seat I have encountered for a while - very very firm when reclined making sleeping difficult. Cost cutting is visible everywhere - no offer to refill drinks (the wines were not good - so no real issue there :) ) Just not worth what BA charge

old seat need to go! outdated and uncomfortable. I waited 40 minutes for my bag

They had about 20-25 people overbooked. Including me. Why is this?? I was put on a flight to NC an hour later with a 4 hour layover. I was supposed to be home at 1045am instead i was home at 7:30pm. An extra day to pay for dog care.
