great location, but LOUD LOUD LOUD hotel! The surrounding nightclubs (and the hotel's own nightclub) mean that the thumping music and rowdy crowds go until 4 a.m. pretty much every night. Ear plugs, white noise app, sleeping pills, and STILL couldn't sleep. fantastic gym with crazy views (weights, stairmasters, Pelotons). cleaning people were awesome--thorough, efficient, and sweet. Room service was really good--coffee was fresh and hot (seems a tough thing to achieve for most hotels). design was great, and the room was nice and bright with an amazing view. some form over function issues (open shower left black tile bathroom floors soaked, even with a dam of towels to prevent it). pushing floor numbers in the elevator was a challenge, because it was so freaking dark (the numbers were next to, not ON the illuminated floor buttons), and you only have a few seconds between tapping your security card and pressing your floor button. truly, it's a great hotel in a lot of ways, but the noise level was ridiculous, so you should take into account what your agenda is going to be for your trip to NYC.
Pros. the location was good
Cons. This place needs a makeover badly. Not only did it look run down but there were many issues with lack of maintenance in the room. They also didn't honor the special promised on their webpage then won't answer my emails now. Poor customer service on top of a tired hotel. Avoid.
Pros. Friendly front desk staff.
Cons. $34 resort fee includes WiFi, which nearly always means they'll just take any separate WiFi charge off the bill when you leave. Not here! $19.99 daily upcharge for "fast" WiFi, and no warning whatsoever, not even when you check out, unless you ask. They took some but not all WiFi charges off. But hey, if you don't need fast WiFi or don't mind paying $54 per day for it, the hotel is great.
Pros. The bed was OK. A bit squeaky. The hotel has a cool vibe
Cons. The rooms are small. Bed squeaky.
Pros. Super comfortable bed, awesome views, helpful staff, great location.
Cons. Bluetooth speaker wasn't working when we arrived but the staff replaced it pretty much immediately. Thanks for that!
Pros. Cannot beats the location! It’s very high in NYC Hot zones!
Cons. The Standard Highline review TOILET PAPER! Worst toilet paper ever!!! BRING YOUR OWN!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!! It’s like Cold War East Germany Military-grade issued!!! Single ply you can almost see through!!! If you’re not careful, you might sand off your butt or get a bad paper cut! Really for almost $400/night to have such crappy toilet paper???!!!??? (Pun intended!) Really BRING YOUR OWN TP!!! Otherwise everything was quite nice - especially the views from the room!!!
Pros. Stayed for conference and anniversary. Asked 3 days ahead to have flowers delivered to room. Never happened. Asked day of and they would have concierge reach out to me. Never happened. Restaurant. Was outstanding. Top floor was a bunch of nobodies acting quite pretentious.
