I came from a Chelsea hotel on 28th and 6th which cost about 30% more with rooms about 30% smaller. The size, design and cleanliness of the room at the Ink were stellar. However, the WiFi failing for most of a day, the unresponsive television system and the shuttering of the once impressive restaurant and rooftop deck made it apparent that this hotel’s best days are behind it. The staff is nice but is burdened with an aging infrastructure that make their job difficult. The rates do not reflect how poorly the hotel compares to its competitors in the same class.
Pros. Stylish, super clean and spacious rooms (especially for NYC) w/ good amenities. Comfortable bed. Great shower and bath products. Excellent daily maid service. Gourmet restaurant on premise that also does room service.
Cons. Walls are not sound proof on all sides and I had a bachelorette party next to me one night, which kept me up late. No free water. Mini bar is awesome, but REALLY overpriced. No free Internet - daily price above standard. hotel rates.
Pros. Proximity to business event.
Cons. Room location: too noisy; not conducive to getting appropriate rest during a business trip. Front desk: did not accommodate our request upon arrival. We were moved to a room 2 floors higher, same room location, same noise level.
Pros. The staff were very professional, and helpful. The hotel is nice to bring our dog to, the staff went out of their way to cater to him. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Cons. There was a very noisy club next door that made it difficult to sleep. Also I thought that for the price we paid the hotel could have offered free WiFi in the rooms.
