Pros:
We arrived by train so the downtown location was more convenient than going out to the airport.Cons:
This is the second time I've rented from Hertz at a non-airport location. The first time they didn't have the class of car I reserved. This time, the downtown Jacksonville office was closed when we arrived at 11AM - we waited for 30 minutes for someone to arrive. The car was very dirty. The inside of the windshield was so dirty that it was a safety hazard; I had to stop and clean it myself in order to see. Also, we checked in at 11:30 AM and brought the car back at 4:30 PM on the return date and we were charged an entire extra day's rental for those five hours. Very disappointed in Hertz.2.4 Poor

Pros:
The Vehicle was Clean and Good on GasCons:
Reserved a Car on Kayak. Called the location Scheduled on Reservation & I was told They had No Cars Available ( Not 10 minutes after booking). I Called over a half dozen other Locations before Someone would rent me a Car. Then I had to find a Ride to the airport an hour away when you had 2 locations within 5 miles of me. Customer Service Over the Phone was Horrible. Had to walk my handicap Girlfriend all over the airport to Find HertZ. Whole experience was horrible Normally I rent with Enterprise but Figured I'd give Hertz a try. I'll be Sticking with Enterprise9.6 Wonderful

Cons:
I called for a pick-up and telephone message gave a lengthy discourse on what you are doing to assure my safety during the COVID virus. NEVER is it mentioned that you have suspended pick-ups!!! This left me scrambling to find a taxi to take me to the office when I had a time issue. Had the message alerted me to this new policy, I would have made arrangements in advance rather than being blindsided.9.2 Wonderful

spent 30 minutes trying to let them know i was going to be late because of our flight. could not get thru the phone system even tho i was told i was being sent to an attendant several time. after 35 min i hung up and grabbed an Uber. by the time we go there we had missed them. i then called again and finally got thru to a human who could do nothing for me except to ask me to call back in 2 days for the car i needed. I'll never rent from Enterprise again.4.4 Mediocre

Wouldn't accept my price I had reserved on line. I had to speak with manager. Poor service. Had to take the smallest car as they did not have my request. For Ultimate available even though reserved plenty time in advance. My opinion is he was shady and the place was unreliable. Would not go there again8.0 Very good

Pros:
I liked the professionalism in behavior, appearance, and attitude of the staff member with whom I dealt--Val. When my economy size car was not available, she offered an upgrade--which I did NOT take because it was much larger than I needed and larger than I could responsibly drive. She promised to have a car for me by day's end, and did. Tank was half full--suggesting it had just been returned, but car drove fine and all went well. Pick up and drop off service is a plus. Don't get rid of it. I think Val is the type of person who should own her own business because she sets a good example of how to deal with the public. She was a quick thinker and reliable do-er; very impressiveCons:
When I returned the car, I had two more days in town and inquired the price for renewing for two more days. It was about 20.00 per day higher than the original rate. A staff member (not the agent who was helping me) suggested that I would not find a lower rate. I found several much lower rates--some half the renewal quote. I think that when customers are returning a vehicle in a timely way and need to renew, they should be given some type of price consideration. After all, a customer in hand is worth--something!7.2 Good

Pros:
I did an internet search for a month-long economy rental car at Jacksonville Airport and found a great price. When I arrived at the airport to pick up my car, they couldn't locate my reservation. As it turned out, I had inadvertently reserved a car at their downtown location. It took some time, but they got me into a Ford Fusion Hybrid for the economy price. It was a beautiful car with excellent mileage.8.4 Very good

Pros:
Pick up was quick and smooth. Car met my travel needs.Cons:
Despite being told the car had a full tank of gas, the empty gas light came on 5 minutes after pickup. Had to choose the closest exit to get gas which was VERY busy and took extra 40 minutes to gas up and wait in line to get back on interstate. Finally able to get in touch with Jax office and I was credited $15.00 as promised, but ended up spending extra on gas that I was not reimbursed for. Car was obviously not cleaned as it had fresh stains and a can of chewing tobacco in the console.4.0 Mediocre
